Well, Live365 did it's best to protect the hobbyist broadcasters as long as they could, but the "evil forces" of the RIAA have forced them to raise our rates.
A lot.
It now costs almost three hundred dollars a month to operate Epic Rock Radio. If there was ever a time that I needed help from my listeners, it is now. If any of you can help out with a small donation of five or ten dollars a month, it would made a big difference to me. If you can do it, please, click -here- to donate $5 a month, or click -here- to donate $10 a month. Just fifteen or twenty listeners doing that would offset the costs of the station and let us pretty much stay on the air forever.
Along with the bad news of the increased broadcast costs, we also have a smaller listener cap. Before, we could have a total of 100 non-VIP listeners at a time on the station. Now, we can only have 60, and that's the absolute maximum we are able to get, unfortunately. (A VIP listener, by the way, is a listener who subscribes to Live365's VIP listener service)
There's at least a little bit of good news in all of this: Live365 is allowing us to broadcast at a full 128k now, instead of 64k MP3Pro. What this means is, everyone will get much cleaner, higher quality sound, similar to CD quality. So, there's at least a LITTLE good, right?
