April 12, 2008: Special Offers for ERR Listeners

Epic Rock Radio is proud to present some very special offers from not just one, but two bands that are featured here on ERR.

At this time, Armory and Eternal Legacy are offering the listeners of Epic Rock Radio a chance to purchase autographed copies of thier albums and shirts. This is an excellent opportunity to get your hands on some great collectors items!

To order signed copies of Armory's The Dawn of Enlightenment CD and/or Shirts, Surf on over to www.faithinsteel.com and check out thier store. Mention on the order form that you are an Epic Rock Radio listener, and would like your copies signed. (this would be in the comments section of the order form.)

To order signed copies of Eternal Legacy's The Coming of the Tempest CD and/or Shirts, Surf on over to www.legacymetal.com and check out thier store for information on ordering, then email truemetal@legacymetal.com to mention that you are an Epic Rock Radio listener, and would like your copies signed.

We here at Epic Rock Radio hope that you enjoy these very special offers, and we would like to thank Armory and Eternal Legacy for allowing us to present our listeners with this great opportunity!

March 15, 2008: T-Shirts back in stock!

The title says it all. Thanks to Rob from SMC Incorporated, we've got some T-Shirts in stock once again. Plus, "Joe The Tech", one of our listeners, is working with people he knows to make a brand new logo for the station. So, we'll end up with more than one style of T-Shirt to choose from. Grab your "Classic Logo" ERR T-Shirts now!

March 10, 2008: Enhanced search, more changes coming soon

Thanks to Oseriduun, we've implemented the first stage of our retrofit of the request system. You'll notice, of you go to the request page, that there's now a drop-down menu that lists All, Artist Name, Song Title, and Album Title. You will find (except for the "All" search, but that will change soon I suspect) that the searches are now far more accurate. Like, if you search for the Artist Name of "Symphony X", you won't get a list of every band on the station with an "X" or the word "Symphony" in the title: You'll just get "Symphony X". Nifty, huh? Stay tuned for other changes from Oseriduun as he tirelessly works to improve Epic Rock Radio. Awesome stuff.

March 3, 2008: Changes with 2008

Well, Live365 did it's best to protect the hobbyist broadcasters as long as they could, but the "evil forces" of the RIAA have forced them to raise our rates.

A lot.

It now costs almost three hundred dollars a month to operate Epic Rock Radio. If there was ever a time that I needed help from my listeners, it is now. If any of you can help out with a small donation of five or ten dollars a month, it would made a big difference to me. If you can do it, please, click -here- to donate $5 a month, or click -here- to donate $10 a month. Just fifteen or twenty listeners doing that would offset the costs of the station and let us pretty much stay on the air forever.

Along with the bad news of the increased broadcast costs, we also have a smaller listener cap. Before, we could have a total of 100 non-VIP listeners at a time on the station. Now, we can only have 60, and that's the absolute maximum we are able to get, unfortunately. (A VIP listener, by the way, is a listener who subscribes to Live365's VIP listener service)

There's at least a little bit of good news in all of this: Live365 is allowing us to broadcast at a full 128k now, instead of 64k MP3Pro. What this means is, everyone will get much cleaner, higher quality sound, similar to CD quality. So, there's at least a LITTLE good, right?
