I may be in the minority......but this news makes me slightly more excited to see Kamelot on this tour! Mike is a fantastic vocalist with what seems like limitless range (even in a live setting). Now don't get me wrong, i hope Roy makes a fast recovery and this in no way affects the longterm plan for camp Kamelot. But in the other hand i look at this as a once in a lifetime sort of experience. One of the best vocalists out there today filling in for another one of the best. Different sound, different songs. It will just be a cool new way to experience Kamelot songs.

UPDATE:

Norway's Circus Maximus has checked in with the following update about pushing back the band's new album and vocalist Michael Eriksen joining Kamelot on tour:

"The recording of the new album has been set back a couple months, but we can assure you it will be worth the wait! We have really taken it farther both musically and lyrically than before. We are extremely excited with this one. As soon as we start the recordings we will bring you weekly updates with teasers, interviews and videos from the studios.

"Mike has just traveled over the pond for the Kamelot's 'Pandemonium Over North America Tour 2010.' As Roy Khan has become ill Mike has on short notice agreed to fill in for him to make this tour a reality. Filling in for such a great performer and singer from a band with so many dedicated fans is a huge thing. Mike is extremely humble and honored to be a part of this. We wish Roy all the best and quick recovery."

Hi ERRors

This weeks song is Accept classic "Balls to the Wall" of their 1984 classic album of the same name.
This song became their signature tune. Their music video recieved American airplay on MTV.

Asked about the meaning of the song, guitarist Wolf Hoffmann replied:

"We've always been interested in politics and in human rights and things like that, so a lot of the lyrics that we had in those days, and to the end actually, were dealing with human rights, for instance, and that's really what "Balls To The Wall" is all about. "One day the tortured will stand up and kick some ass!"

The video later appeared on Beavis and Butt-head in the 1993 episode "Tornado".

The song has also been featured on two VH1 countdown shows: as #38 on the 40 Greatest Metal Songs, and as #29 on the 40 Most Awesomely Bad Metal Songs Ever.

It is also on the in-game radio for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories on the V-Rock station, and appears as a playable track in the video game Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s, as a cover version.

The song was also covered by Finnish power metal band Altaria on their 2004 album Divinity.

The song was featured in the 2008 movie The Wrestler.

Epic Rock Radio would like to wish our friend KHAN from KAMELOT a speedy recovery as he has to sit out the band's North American Tour.

Taking Roy Khan's place, we also welcome, Michael Ericksen of Circus Maximus.

They must be the first metal band with all band members having short hair cuts. No one with long hair. I think that is very interesting.  Grin

I really love Aurelio Fierro Jr's vocals!  In Sunset Highway you can hear Jorn.  This music rocks!  Great stiff!
