Progressive Power Metal - not an oxymoron!

Got a new one that i think belongs on ERR. Very powerful music with memorable melodies. The songs are kicking my ass! I really want to listen to more by KIUAS, http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=71198016. Check them out and tell me what you think... Cool

fabio - If we only had CDs, without being able to burn them and listen to them via the computer or iPod, I would have had to replace both of their CDs by now, that's how often they get played.  In my car, "Spirit of Ukko" is probably the most played CD of all time, eclipsing even Circus Maximus - and I have probably just mentioned my 2 favorite bands that I can listen to in any mood, and at any time.

If you don't have their CDs, or if you only want one to start with, do the first one - but both are absolutely top-notch.  I don't often recommend CDs to others, but if you like what you heard already, you canno go wrong.

If you have a bunch of gems lying around like the Kiuas discs.....maybe you should recommend more discs.  Cool I honestly had just never heard of them before. I will probably try and include them when i can afford to order some more new discs. Thanks for the recommendation. I can't just go around buying all the discs i think woul be awesome....i'd be homeless by now. It helps to get a good recommendation from at least one other like minded listener.  Wink

We really need to get the Symphony X "The Odyssey" tracks in the playlist fixed. There are two of every song....and only one of each title works. So it's pretty much a gamble. If you pick the wrong one it will not play (comes into the queue and then just skips right over it)...and it counts as a request. It would be nice to be able to request a tune from that album every now and then. Especially considering they are the best band EVER!!  Cheesy Hopefully you can get that taken care of rather easily Kailef.   Cool

Check out the band Triosphere! Pretty great stuff. http://www.myspace.com/triosphere It's got a little bit of everything.....some progressive moments, definite power metal influence, a female vocalist that also plays the bass....ripping guitars throughout....what more could one need? The tunes i listened to at their myspace page kicked my ass! Give them a shot.

I'm not saying i'm adding them to the top of my next CD order....but i will be hoping to hear more from them in the future. Pretty good sounding stuff.  Cool

Kailef my good man.

I know you have the first CD of Ayreon's Universal Migrator album but haven't uploaded it to the station due to it being a much calmer and less "metal" collection of songs, but I have to admit that I usually play that one more often out of the two when I'm at home.

Maybe you could consider eventually uploading it without maybe adding it to the rotation?  That way, we could always pop in the occasionnal request and enjoy a more complete Ayreon experience.   Grin

Eh?  EH!?!   Wink

I politely request that album be kept OFF of Epic Rock Radio, actually.  As it was, I talked him into adding the second disc, which is actually somewhat rocky, but that first disc was not ERR material at all... it is musically good, but neither 'epic' nor 'rock'.

Wouldn't want him having false advertising... Wink

Has anybody else listened to Cryonic Temple (forgive me if it was mentioned earlier)?  I've only heard one of their songs and it was on another metal station while ERR was down, but they made my list of decent stuff.

I, like you, have only heard one or two songs by Cryonic Temple. They sounded pretty good. They would definitely go well on this station. Hopefully we can get them on ERR oneday. You can check out a couple songs of theirs by clicking on this link----> http://www.myspace.com/cryonictemple  Cool

Nice suggestions there.  Wink Welcome to the message boards Byblos!!! Hope to see you around more. Nightwish's "DPP" should probably get added very soon. After the server move and all of that stuff.....i think we'll be treated to many more additions to the playlist, and surely that will be one of them. As for the VOA and Tristania, those may have to be added to the list too. Nice input.

Sounds pretty good. Definitely has the ingredients for great stuff. By no means am i claiming to be an expert, but it sounded a little raw in parts. "We Are Vikings" definitely sounded best. I hope the band can get the proper funding  and put out another release. Sounds like they could be awesome. Keep us updated.

Yeah, I will keep you updated.
Sound Storm is currently working on their full lenght debut album, it will be released in a few months.
Glad you liked "we are vikings"!
Another suggestion I have is Seraphim, pretty cool female fronted power metal from Taiwan!
www.myspace.com/theofficialseraphim
Or Majesty, very good band.

Cool that someone mentioned Cryonic Temple earlier, very good band, they have done 3 albums, great music, and they are currently working on their 4th album.
