Yes I'm very excited and happy about my conversion to power metal. So knowing that a great deal of you people share the same interest as me and you people rock hard, lets get to know each other a little better here, something to break the ice.

Hey I'm Jonathan A.K.A DeAtH_LeSS.

I live In Newyork.

I am currently unemployed but i am searching for new band mates.

My interests are METAL, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Drawing, Writing, Gaming, Pizza.

My Favorite Power Metal Band on this station (so far since i just got into PM) is Symphony X.

I guess that about sums it up for me. Any takers brave enough?

METAL RULES!

Yeah let's go for this Smiley

My name is Phil, I'm 27, have been listening to metal for 15 years (started with Rainbow, Maiden), and I live in Rouen, France.
I'm still a student, I study organic chemistry, soon to get a PhD.
My main interests in life are various: video games, hanging out with friends, good beer, listening to music, reading very good books (heroic fantasy, philosophy, ancient greek tragedies, different things).
My favourite band would be Iron Maiden, but from what we have here (god knows this radio is a kickass!) my favourite is Gamma Ray. Until Virgin Steele is added Wink

Yep, this should be fun Grin

I'm Parimal from Kathmandu, Nepal, three years into metal (lol 5 times less than Valandryl!). I'd go on for hours talking about how I got into powermetal at a place where no one ever even heard it, but that's another day Wink. I play guitars, bass, drums (well, not always) and compose for my melodic powermetal band, Atlantis. The official website for that is http://www.metalprovider.com/atlantis (I changing domain nameservers so...).

I draw inspiration mainly from Gamma Ray and Iron Savior - totally fun-loving and out-of-this-world-on-to-another-universe kind of bands! Grin lol.
Besides that, I also love writing short-stories and articles. I can post the links to these later. They're either humorous or about metal, and mostly both Cheesy. My latest article titled "The Power of Metal" (pun intended), is being published in a magazine here called Infotiser, just to convey my message to people that metal isn't about conforming to any image, and that it's all about just enjoying being who you are.
Again, that's another way (ryhmes?) lol.

I'll be recording a sweeper for ERR soon with a small guitar solo being played at the back (and that'll be me!!) lol.

One of my aims is to introduce powermetal to this part of the world, so more people can enjoy this beautiful music (and in the words of Piet Sielck, "We don't need no leather jacket, and no jingling chains. All we need is the energy, and the metal in our veins"). His point being the same: It's all about enjoying!!

Oh, and I'm 15 years old and at school (and terrible in maths...). I also do webdesign (that link above), graphics (I could post some examples later on), and am a newbie to Linux and Perl - both of which I hope to master soon Wink (not too soon, though lol).

Anyway, that's me. (This is fun!) Come on, fellow epic-rockers, post on! Wink

Here's a part of my to-be-published article:

Quote

The year 2001 was the turning point for me, before which I hated heavy music. I thought it was created by a bunch of talentless people with long hair, banging their heads, thrashing the drums, burning the guitar while screaming like beasts. But then I thought I should try it just so I could fit in with other people who claimed to like heavy stuff. While searching for metal bands to get into, my eyes accidentally caught the words ?Gamma Ray? (in a website), and I decided to look into this band (since I wanted to get into something new). Wanting to develop interest in Gamma Ray, I decided I should sample a song or two and when I found a song online, I downloaded it. Let's at least give it a shot, I thought. I pressed play, and the music began to play. For some curious - I immediately loved it! It was like nothing I'd heard before! It was metal, and I loved it!

It was melodic, it was powerful and it was full of energy! Since it made me feel happy from the inside everytime I played my the songs I'd downloaded, I wanted to look deeper into this new world I'd accidentally stepped into. However, Because I couldn't discuss my favourite band with others (since I was the only one around that'd even heard the name of Gamma Ray), I felt a bit stranded. Surprisingly though, it gave me a sense of freedom, freedom of not having to judge and be judged.  It was all so simple. I liked it, listened to it and enjoyed it! I developed new values ? where I would do and support what I liked, respecting at the same time, the values of others (and what they liked). These made me a stronger, imperturbable person as well. I started taking everything postively and life seemed full of color! I soon discovered other great melodic powermetal bands of the likes of Iron Savior, Blind Guardian, Nightwish, Freedom Call (through Gamma Ray's drummer), Edguy and Helloween. I felt I belonged, and I loved that!

I just decided one day who I really was, and what I really wanted to do from then on to forever. I was going along with society for a while, doing the same things that everyone else was doing. Clothes, music, attitude u name it. I finally decided I should be myself, to be the true individual that i was born to be. I decided to completly put my life towards rock and to let no one tell me what to do or how to act.

Then i went to another forum one day and I discovered metal. Then that led me to another forum and i discovered dragonforce. finally another forum led me to this radio station and now I have learned about true power metal. That kind of sums up my story of how metal and i came to be, I've never been happier ever since then.

Nice, glad that you didn't discover metal after being a fan of those commercial stuff (Evanescence for example). At least you discovered and liked it without any pressure or fashion Smiley

Yeah in spanish classes they taught us the locations of all the countries of sentral america, among which Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, even Belize (which is strange).

Hola H?ctor  Grin

Well I'm surprised, so far I expected a lot of north-americans, and I'm glad to see that good metal has fans in rather unexpected places Smiley

I actually was into commercial music. I't wasn't my fault because whatever i was exposed to around my area was the only music I liked. again i went along with society. Never go along with society, never... always be yourself. Just because we live in a world that gives us the power to be whoever we want to be, make sure that doesn't elude you from being your true self.

Ehehe well I guess you all know my name already (if not you must be kinda blind  Grin), I also live in France, south-eat more exactly, where it's all sunny & hot  Tongue

I have some IT degrees, but it's hard to find a job accordingly nowadays, some I'm working at the airport, waiting for the police test, so I'll be able to finally work with some computers  Grin (only dep. that still recruits for IT dep.)

Discovered metal 7 years ago, with Blind Guardian, and since then it turned that I love    speed-melodic-symphonic metal  Grin

My hobbies are "classics", by that I mean I like to play around with photoshop, use php, but also love paintball. oh and music of course  Grin
