dear metal fans

me and atlantis came with this new concept - a metalopedia- a site where you can actually read and about metal (power, symphony); and maybe provide sites of bands; post everything that we know and everything that we have experieced.

i know it will take a lot of time and work but it's just a suggestion!

Yep, that would be a fun project

If you guys want to help, then I could design a site where we have band bios of metal (melodic/power/symphonic/heavy...) with CD reviews, we could do interviews, legal downloads and stuff. It'd be a community thing.

What say you?

Yep, I saw a quite a lot of sites with band profiles, like the one you mentioned and Tartarean Desire (which is real nice), but I thought of something a bit off. Those sites are there to provide info. Our site will be dedicated to just a few great bands (say Gamma Ray, Iron Savior, Blind Guardian, Edguy and Freedom Call to start with, suppose). We post news, maybe even have a little discussion forum, interview those bands, collect other interviews, review their CDs. Not to tabulate every single band alive

Oh I see heh, so yes it would be nice, but will require a lot of work, but I dunno how we could interview these bands For the rest, yeah that would be a great idea

Interview, Piet is withing easy reach and I think he wouldn't mind one online We could collect past interviews (with permission) as well.

It's a big project, but I think it's would be fun (if we go slow...)

We could... but I think we should go slow on this. Besides, we could not do anything without help from more friends

We'll do a voting when Kailef's installed the polling system. Then we'll slowly get to work. ; As Valandryl has  mentioned, we don't want it turn out to be like a general thing.

I love that website, some doom/black metal profiles are hilarious and also theres some great bands there.

How about if we focus on the genre of metal that this here radiostation plays (Syphonic/Powermetal if you like to call it that)?

Could be kind of a cross-affiliation with this site of some sort...
Hmm, I don?t quite know myself, did that just make sense?

EDIT: I mean a general "Epic Metal" site...
Posting news regarding that genre, reviewing albums/concerts/dvd?s/anything..
And of course the mandatory band profiles.
I was thinking since all the bands most likely have officiall home pages packed with bios and other info, we wouldn?t need that on this one, maybe just short bios, some lyrics/tabs and a discography. Then link it up to the officiall...

Did any of that make any sense? If not ask and I shall answer..

That actually sounds like an excellent idea.

It could even be hosted here, at Epic Rock Radio.  We could sort of 'merge' the sites.  The only problem is that I have my hands full operating the radio station itself.  I actually was considering doing an active news / band bio section, but I just haven't got enough time to pull it off and do it well.

If there are others here who can devote the time an energy to this plan, I'd be happy to support it.

@both of you (and others as well): I see what you mean, and I'm very interested. I am very busy with school these days, plus three confirmed webdesign projects (and one pending) so my contribution maybe slow. But if we're going to do this, I'm in! I'll be free mid-October Shall we do something about it then?
