Ideas and features for "Album of the Week"

Let's do it - whenever one of us is available, and sees that DT, and "Systematic Chaos" in particular, has not been played in the time visible on the main page, we'll attempt to stick in a song of our choice - we'll find out pretty quickly if that works out!

Just had another idea....but i don't know how it will work. First i guess let me ask you Kailef, can we request sweeper's? I know that time is against Kailef and he can't be expected to update the sweeper every week, so maybe he could just make one that says something like "ERR presents your Album of the Week", and everytime we can request it followed by the song. But then we wouldn't be able to get a request of our own in i guess....just a thought. I thought i'd throw it out there, maybe the idea can be improved upon.

Maybe there is a way that requesting the sweeper wouldn't count as a request....okay i'll let you respond since i don't even know if we can request sweepers (but i know i have seen them in the request section).

Better yet - Go warm your voices up and record a sweeper for the Album of the Week, and upload it to me.  The new server has an updated version of SAM that's not as much of a pain in the butt to work with.  So - I can write a rotation that will play the least recently played track from the current Album of the Week, with a sweeper introducing the album, once every hour or so.

(like we used to do a year or two back, without my having to work several hours every week to do it)

How does that sound?  ;-)

Oh man! Cool Stuff. So are you saying we will get a new sweeper every week dedicated to the actual album? That is very cool. Can we get it going as early as this next week?

Quite nice Kailef, that would be great to have an automatic album of the week playing that way together with the sweeper , if it's not too much work to put it together. BTW, may be I can also help out this, I'm a bit of a programmer (being a computer science student), so if there's anything that I could do, please let me know.

Alright Amir, it's time to start the week of Iron Savior's "Megatropolis". So i say you start another thread just like the DT one dedicated to the new "AotW". You did it perfectly, the colors, the links to the library location, everything. We gotta keep the Album of the Week going until Kailef can get it on automatic rotation. I'd say that the first week went pretty well. So you start the thread and when i get off work i will try and dig up some cool videos and more info on the band. And hopefully some others will chime in with their info and knowledge of the album. Tune in....And Turn It Up!
