Fabio,

I hate Gaia Epicus.  I saw your request late on Thursday night.

I countered with some Arwen.  Arwen rocks.  Between Love and Pain is a sweet track.  Needed to have an antidote to Gaia Epicus' so called "music".

That was a band that i was checking out for the first time.....wasn't that impressed. I'm using this night of listening to check out as many of the bands i don't know as possible. I'm going through the playlist alphabetically seeing what i need to check out...so far i am at letter "N"....these are the ones i am barely familiar with....

Altaria - 'darkened highlight'=2/5 stars
Amaran
Angtoria (4/5, 'Confide in Me)
Archetype
Celesty
Conquest
Cruachan
Domain
Domine
Dream evil
Edenbridge
Gaia Epicus (2/5)
Guardians of Time
Meduza
Moonlight Agony

Those three with the ratings are the ones i have checked out already. If i should be listening to any of the above mentioned bands due to awesomeness....please make me aware of it.  Wink

I heard that Arwen request. That was a good tune. Arwen is a band that i am not too familiar with though. I don't own any of their discs and i have only heard a couple tracks here and there never "Really LISTENING" if you know what i mean. i'll request a tune from them when i get a chance and really pay attention.

as for gaia epicus.....i may not be requesting a ton of that in the future  Grin

Also i heard a killer tune earler by Magica!! I then waited a while and requested another tune from them.....Awesome! What do you think of that band? I need to check them out a little more before jumping to the fanclub...but so far, i like waht i've heard.  Cool

From that lst you have there, fabio, I'd check out Dream Evil. Check out "The Book of Heavy Metal" (unfortunately, we don't have it on here, or I'd have requested it) on YouTube:

Thanks Mojobie.  Cool Actually that is the one song i have heard by Dream Evil. I feel like i have heard that song more than once before (although i don't know where if it's not here on ERR). Honestly I am unsure if i like that song very much. I mean it's alright, but it doesn't make me want to buy the CD or anything. Thanks for the feedback mojobie....that was what i was hoping for...a suggestion...and a link... Wink Cool

Just checked out Gaia Epicus and I must say that it was pretty bad (and no im not just jumping on the band wagon). The name makes it seem like it would be good its far from it. Angry

You had Angtoria on there - I absolutely love it.  They only have one album so far, sadly, but its simply amazing.  I'll put it on still after my initial 'play it to death' period, heh.  I'd buy a new album from them in a heartbeat!

They are good, but I couldn't find anything more than the two albums I had.  The first one is okay, the second one is what I send Kailef to add to the station.  I'm fairly certain it was a side project that isn't being pursued any longer, but the Lightseeker album is fairly solid and consistent.

Magica, who are Romanian, BTW, just released a new CD called "Hereafter", on the German AFM Records label.  That's all I know - may need to think about getting that one soon.....

Thumbs up to Angtoria - great first CD.  And from that list, if you like female-fronted metal, but with a little more edge to it, check out Amaran further.  Edenbridge are just a touch too soft for me - but we do need the Within Temptation catalogue here....we'll work on that for next year.

Thanks for the response Creed. I will definitely be checking out more of that Angtoria album. As you an see above in my list, i have the one song i heard rated as a 4/5. It was a really good tune, and i'm hoping that the rest is just as good.

And as for Magica....i will be requesting more of this as well.   Cool

Hopefully we can get that newest Magica added to ERR.

Another positive notion for Angtoria....this one must be the real deal. I'll definitely pay more attention to it, with both you and Creed backing it. Amaran-noted. I am really not that ig on female fronted bands, but sometimes it's nice to switch it up.....i'll keep them in mind.

As for Within Temptation......i believe that Creed had sent some Within Temptation to Kailef already (just hasn't been added yet). I don't know which album(s), i'm sure he can chime in and tell us. But yes, from what little i have heard from WT....they belong here on ERR.

I put the two most recent Within Temptation albums in Kailef's hands months ago, but when his uploading stopped due to volume issues, he was clearly going in alphabetical order when he'd stopped.  Wink  So they're already passed along, its just a matter of him having time to get them up.  (I have the one before the two most recent, but the one time I listened to it, I wasn't impressed at all.. giving it another try before long)

Amaran is decent, but a bit simple for my tastes... I like the energy of Atrophine and Catharsis, but some of the others just don't grab me as well.

New Magica?!  Seriously?!  My Russian friends need to hurry up and get that one, I'll definitely check it out as soon as I'm able...

Meanwhile, I need to get with Kailef on formatting for the station, I've had my hands on Epica's Divine Conspiracy for a while now, and so should he.. Wink

Ok, I realise that I am replying to a pretty old thread here.  But I also realise that it isn't that far down in the boards, so I don't feel like a necromancer either.

Just wanted to pop in a good word for Archetype if you still haven't had the chance to give them a spin.  I bought their album "Dawnings" a short while before summer and am still giving it a run for its money.  One of my favorite songs on there is the highly drum-focused instumental song "The mind's eye".  I've read on a review somewhere that this band gives a good idea of what would happen if you combined Iced Earth with Dream Theater.  I, for one, agree with that thought.

And, from what I've heard, or what I seem to remember, Guardians of Time deserves a shot as well.  Although my memory just might be playing tricks on me.

Well, that's all the time I've had to spare tonight.  See you guys around!
