Narzul had an idea of displaying currently playing song information on you desktop which he named it ERR thingy. Here is the same sort of thingy for Linux. Check the attached screenshot, the information about songs is displayed in lower part of text shown on the top-right corner of the desktop.

So if some of you once happened to have a Linux, just drop me a line and I will set you up with it.

lol That's nice Smiley How's ERR publishing this information? RSS? XML?

Perhaps we can have a GUI for this, sort of like the system information visible in that screenshot Wink

Hey Atlantis, I actually fetch the mini.php page, convert it to text file, and extract those information from it, I don't think there is RSS feed for ERR.

And I don't know Windows very well, but if you use Linux, there are a few programs for system monitoring. The one you see here is a very flexible one called Conky, http://conky.sourceforge.net/ , it has the possibility of executing a command and display the results on over the desktop, so I used it to show the song information.

You can check another screenshot of my desktop I took it today at this thread, this has a more polished conky settings Wink

that looks cool as hell amir, and gives me an idea to play around with hehe, although i dont think i could come up with something similar (or create an rss). i know it is possible though on kailef's end to have the song information for current playing track to show up on the audio player display.. (i'd personally be happy with that, as that would show up on my g15 display) Smiley
