The cover artwork for "Master of Illusion", the new album from UK melodic power metallers POWER QUEST, can be viewed below. The CD will be issued on the following dates:

March 26 - Japan/Southeast Asia (via Marquee/Avalon)
April 25 - Europe (via Napalm)
May 13 - USA (via Napalm)

The album, which was mastered on February 13, features guest appearances by keyboardist Richard West from the UK progressive metal band THRESHOLD and Jorn Viggo Lofstad from the Norwegian power metal act PAGAN'S MIND. Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Human Machine", "Hearts and Voices", "The Vigil", "The Right Place and the Wrong Time", "Count My Sins" and "The Tragedy Suite".

POWER QUEST last year had their first two albums re-released as double-disc sets with bonus DVD material. These twin re-releases have been repackaged with extended sleeve notes and new artwork. They are available through Majestic Rock and their European distribution channels or the POWER QUEST online store.

So i figure i will create a new thread like this one when i find updates about all upcoming releases and i will post it in the "Album and Artist Review" section. Then we can continue to post news/updates and such until the release date.....then i figure we will already have the thread and can discuss the album upon it's release, hence the section title "album and artist reviews".

Anyways, this will be a release that i will be wanting to check out. I kinda like Powerquest at times.....but their music is just so damn happy at times, and that is one thing that gets at me from time to time. Kinda the reason i don't like Freedom Call all that much.....just too happy sounding.  Cheesy So i guess we will wait and see about this new one. Definitely some killer guest appearences! I look forward to hearing it on ERR. By the way, aren't there a couple other Powerquest albums out there that are missing from ERR? What does anyone out there think/know about those? Rock On Friends!!!

I just did too, Oser.  I gotta say, I wasn't REAL impressed with them until "Kings of Eternity" came on.  That one rocked my socks off.

Picked this up last night and listened to most of it on the way to work this morning. Quite good, it'll fit in nicely with my collection, and here as well.

i have to admit, my favorite track is cemetary gates, although part of me wished that was a pantera cover when i first saw the name, the song itself was quite good in my opinion, and has definately been the one that's stood out the most for me.
