DRAGONFORCE PREPARES THE WORLD FOR AN ULTRA BEATDOWN

Due for release on August 26th!!!!

Attention heavy metal warriors and guitar heroes across the land. DragonForce are pleased to announce Ultra Beatdown as the title of their forthcoming new album for Roadrunner Records, due in stores on August 26.

Ultra Beatdown is an epic, sweeping, grand collection of infectious guitar anthems that'll inspire all who listen to either pump their fists in the air or pick up a guitar, whether it be real or virtual. DragonForce's single from 2006's Inhuman Rampage, "Through The Fire and Flames," exploded on the public beyond the metal world thanks to its appearance on the massively popular guitar simulator game. The single has been RIAA certified Gold in the US.

The track listing for Ultra Beatdown is as follows:

1. Heroes of Our Time
2. The Fire Still Burns
3. Reasons to Live
4. Scars of Yesterday
5. Heartbreak Armageddon
6. The Last Journey Home
7. Inside the Winter Storm
8. The Warrior Inside

Well, looks like were in for another high octane release from the D-Force!!! With those song names, i would guess that we are gonna get something pretty similar to their previous works. But that's fine by me. I am a fan of everything they have done. So i'm sure this will be no different. Can't wait to check it out!  Cool

Honestly, I'd rather they branch out and try something new. The last couple of releases have sounded incredibly formulaic to me. Either way, we shall see.

Well, i seriously doubt we will see them "branch out". If you consider they just kinda blew up with the last album and the tune 'Through the Fire and the Flames', i seriously doubt they will head in a new direction of any kind and risk losing the newly gained fans by changing their style. I could see them trying to include maybe a mid tempo song or two.....just so every song doesn't sound the same, but really i am expecting it to be pretty similar to their previous works. We'll see i guess.

as long as they include 1 or 2 songs similar to trail of broken hearts or lost souls in endless time, i'll be a happy camper.  I mean, i like DF, but those 2 songs really do it for me more than any of thier other works..  the rest all sounds so much alike that it gets boring listening to it with any regularity.

http://www.myspace.com/dragonforce

You can hear a new song from the upcoming D-Force release on their myspace page. Song titled 'Heroes of Our Time'...and sounds like Dragonforce!  Grin

Definitely not much of a departure from their past efforts, just as i expected....but i enjoyed the hell out of the track no less.  Cool

That little breakdown that happens at 1:04 in Heroes of our Time is pure excellence.  Some of you will be happy to hear that the rest of the album is a bit different.  Everything after the first track sounds more like their a return to the Valley of the Damned style, with some Through the Fire and the Flames-esque solos inserted.  All-in-all, its a much better album than Inhuman Rampage.  Heartbreak Armageddon is probably the best track of the album.

This album is alright. I like the tracks The Fire Still Burns (Which similar to Disciples of Babylon), Reasons To Live, The Last Journey Home, Inside The Winter Storm, and The Warrior Inside.

The Last Journey home I like because of it's style, it's more Progressive Metal style than Power Metal and is really good.
