Favorite soundtrack to a book?!

I may be off topic here
, but I think it would be interesting to know if there is anyone else here that has read a really good book, and perhaps listened to a special album while reading the book?
For instance, many years ago I read "Pet Sematary" by Stephen King, and while I read it I almost exclusively listened to "Hysteria" by Def Leppard (yeah, I know, but I thought it was great at the time). Now, whenever I hear a tune from Hysteria I get that nice, creepy feeling I had reading Pet Sematary.
About a year ago, I read the trilogy about the Liveship Traders by Robin Hobb, great books by the way! Reading these books I listened a lot to "The Odyssey" by Symphony X. It matched perfectly! It´s almost like picking the right wine for a nice meal
I´d be glad to hear of similar experiences, or maybe you guys think I need to see a therapist

Oddly enough, my favorite "soundtrack to a book" would be "No Spill Blood" by Oingo Boingo, based on H. G. Wells' novel The Island of Dr. Moreau... Yeah, not epic rock, I know, but I like it anyhow.

Here's a video of Oingo Boingo performing the song live.
The lead singer is Danny Elfman. He is a veteran composer, having done the theme song for Simpsons, the original Batman movie, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and a massive number of other movies.

I used to have the quirky habit of listening to Iron Maiden's "Piece of Mind" album while reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time novels, but lately all my reading has been accompanied by an internet radio station that plays Indo-fusion.

Books/series // associated soundtracks:
J.K. Rowling's
Harry Potter
series // Rhapsody (of Fire) - discography (
Legendary Tales
being the best fit)
Mathew Stover's
Heroes Die
and
Blade of Tyshalle
// Wintersun - s/t
Brian Clevinger's
Nuklear Age
// Blind Guardian -
Nightfall in Middle-Earth
Jennifer Fallon's
Demon Child Trilogy
// Falconer - discography
And I've just started Patrick Rothfuss's
The Name of the Wind
(a highly suggested read to anyone looking for a great character driven fantasy novel), and I've yet to decide on an album or band to fit it yet. Maybe Equilibrium -
Sagas
...

I may be off topic in this off topic, but I gravitate towards certain albums for GAMES, not books, like Pagan's Mind - God's Equation when I play Transcendence (a space action/adventure game). I think God's Equation is a really great album by itself, but combining it with a space game when it is itself a very spacey album (in my eyes...ears) enhances it a lot.
Also yay first post ever.

I've read a lot of Science Ficction books while I was listening to Pagan's Mind albums, these create a really great athmosphere. There's also an album from Michael Romeo called The Dark Chapter who talks about Edgar Allan Poe's tales.

well generally I read fantasy novels stuff like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, The House Of The Night, Maxium Ride, Inkheart and I listen to my ipod which has Nightwish, Within Temptation, Sarah Jezebel Deva, Lacuna Coil, In This Moment, Gone Til Winter, Cradle Of Filth and Van Canto and all of those bands seem to fit in with the books pretty well.

When I listen to War Books then its time for Sabaton, The Coat of Arms album specifically. For fantasy stuff like Lord of The Rings or R.A. Salvatore's works then I listen to Nightwish, Within Temptation, Kamelot, or Rhapsody of Fire.
