And though I'm new here, or maybe just because I'm new, I am a bit irritated by the discussion about the harsh vocals. While listening to ERR I noticed lots of songs with growls (Epica, Battlelore, Haggard etc. I mean, just because there's a female voice in a band, it is automatically melodic? No matter how harsh the male voice may be?), but as long as the underlying musical style is melodic/progressive, they don't really hurt. I am not keen on harsh vocals myself, but in the case of Opeth, I don't understand why they are totally banned here, since they are more progressive than most other bands and melodic and contain a good deal of clean vocals. To me Opeth is definitely not Death Metal

Also, just mentioning, since I'm obviously not the only one, if still a minority: I would be delighted to have the possibility to request more  Progressive Rock on EpicROCKRadio (Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree and the like)

That should be enough for now XD (Sorry, don't want to offend anybody, music is such a "private" thing...)

Even though I hear many cries in the Shoutbox that Folk-metal is not really 'the thing' for ERR, I would still like to suggest the band: Heidevolk.
A dutch metal band, with folk-influences as many a scandinavian band that are already added (Stormwarrior, Alestorm, Eluveitie).

I would like to hear your likes or dislikes on this one.
