Never Forgotten Heroes

Here is my list of albums i've enjoyed in 2009. From top to bottom....best to worst. Although i must say even the last listed release on my list is an enjoyable listen. I don't buy as many CD's as i used to so i am a bit more picky as to what i get. I don't end up with too many i dislike. Of course some of these albums i have heard a ton and others maybe just a couple times. But isn't that really what makes a great album? Keeps you coming for more!

I guess what i'm trying to say is, in time some of these placements are bound to change. So of course, i reserve the right to change the rankings at any time for many reasons.

Here is the list as of today:

Redemption "Snowfall on Judgement Day"
Shadow Gallery "Digital Ghosts"
Dream Theater "Black Clouds and Silver Linings"
Subsignal "Beautiful and Monstrous"
Vangough "Manakin Parade"
Pathosray "Sunless Skies"
Animals As Leaders "Animals As Leaders"
Scar Symmetry "Dark Matter Dimensions"
Candlemass "Death Magic Doom"
Sonata Arctica "The Days of Greys"
Umphrey's McGee "Mantis"
Riverside "Anno Domini High Definition"
Dredg  "The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion"
The Dear Hunter "Act III"
Between the Buried and Me "The Great Misdirect"
Devin Townsend "Ki"
Mastodon "Crack the Skye"
Epica "Design Your Universe"
Killswitch Engage "Killswitch Engage"
Narnia "Course of a Generation"
S.U.E. "Unreal"
Savage Circus "Of Doom and Death"
Megadeth "Endgame"
Forgotten Suns "Innergy"

2009 Albums I plan to check out as money comes my way:

Freak Kitchen "Land of the Freaks"
Future's End "Memoirs of a Broken Man"
Killing Touch "One of a Kind"
Arch Enemy "Rise of the Tyrant"
Rishloo "Feather Gun"
Illusion Suite "Final hour"
DGM "Frame"
The Beneath "City of Light"

I'd like to go on and talk a little about each album .....but that would take me all of 2010.  Grin  So if anyone wants to discuss or has any questions about a specfic album then let it be known and we will discuss it. Looking forward to enjoying these releases long into the future. And definitely looking forward to what is bound to be a great year of releases in 2010.

From a short list i have kept, bands that have albums coming out in 2010: Kamelot, Orphaned Land, Nevermore, Rhapsody, Kiuas, Masterplan, Ark, Circus Maximus, Seventh Wonder, Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Dragonland, Suspyre, and Pain of Salvation. I am sure there are many more i am forgetting. Cheers to more great music on the horizon!

Yeah I have a question Fabio.  I was checking out Dream Theater on Amazon and listening to some samples (I will certainly be purchasing this album soon) and I noticed the Riverside album.  I listened to those samples too but nothing grabbed me all that much.

Are the samples representative of the tracks or am I missing something? There are some Riverside tracks on Grooveshark including some from that new album.

Epica "Design Your Universe" very good album and the best one epica did to date simon 's voice is very good on that album more then the others it full of deferent feelings and stores the album is not so Arabian sound like TDC or TPA just tow great songs bring that feeling  kingdom of heaven and born into a sunder kingdom of heaven written for TDC but mark save it for next because SIMON was not ready to sing it with high opera sound I think the best song on the album is our destiny the song have very deferent parts even with that the song still so contacted then come  top 2 for me is  resign to surrender the song very progressive and symphonic and so gothic and dark all that in one song that why I like it the intro is great  as Always with all albums the intro was Amazing I think on this album mark tried to bring CTO album in deferent face but with same heart    Roll Eyes
