The Drummer from the band Twins Crew stopped by the Shoutbox today for a visit and we ended up in an impromptu interview.

11:15 am Jan 25, 2010

unoeriksson   What do you guys think of this song? (I´m behind the drums)

metalswede   ladies and germs: say welcome to Uno! the drummer in Twins Crew

~V~   Hello Uno and thanks for checking us out and welcome to Epic Rock Radio!

Unoeriksson   Thanks

~V~   I really enjoy your CD and I've heard others enjoy it too.

unoeriksson   Great station! Epic is really right name for it!

~V~   Kailef has done a great job.

Metalswede   true true!

~V~   The SB is a little quiet this morning... perhaps the Monday Blahs of getting back to work.

~V~   Are you guys working on anything right now?

unoeriksson   Yes we are... we are currently working on our first full-length album... just looking for a god record-deal

~V~   Awesome! Looking forward to it! Is the new stuff similar to what we have heard so far?

unoeriksson   Yes... personally I think the new stuff is stronger, heavier and sometimes faster hehe

~V~   That's what we like to hear!  Do you have any gigs lined up for 2010?

unoeriksson   Oh yes. We started this Saturday in a small Swedish town, and we plan a new Germany/Austria tour this summer... perhaps a few more countries... hope to get to the US soon

~V~   Awesome! We'll continue to give your music exposure here at ERR
.
~V~   What made you decide to get into heavy metal music or were you influnenced in that genre all your life and who are your influences?

unoeriksson     Thank´s a lot! All the guys in the band has listened to metal all our lifes... and you know what, the one who introduced me to Helloween and Iron maiden for the first time is "Metalswede"
Roger... you can blame him for making me start playing the drums, hehe

Featherlibra   unoeriksson, what's your bands name??

Metalswede    right answer...

Featherlibra   its called unosriksson?

Unoeriksson   Featherlibra: Twins Crew... We are an unsigned band from Stockholm Sweden

mojobie   Cool. I've enjoyed the tracks that I've heard so far. I fully support heavier and faster.

unoeriksson   ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah I like what I've heard so far as well

~V~   Does Roger receive any of the royalties ? Hypothetical question.

unoeriksson   Nice Mojobie! We just have to find a way financing the recordings of our full-length album... Anyone know a good record-company whos up for the job?

Featherlibra   if you play in England make sure to try and play in London and I will come and see you

unoeriksson   Haha, acutally now he dont V. He´s our top roadie right now

unoeriksson   That´s sweet Featherlibra. Maybe you can fix a gig for us there?

~V~   How about the record company Kamelot uses?

metalswede   I met Uno when he was only 9 years old (when I fell in love with his sister) and I think I have done a pretty good job raising him

unoeriksson   What company is that? We have send demos to over 100 labels...

~V~   Let me see if I can locate the name for you.

~V~   I think it is KMI Entertainment.

Unoeriksson   Oh, thanks V... I will check if we have sent a demo there.

~V~   SPV/King Records/KMI

~V~   That is what is listed on Kamelot's FB page as the Record Label. I hope that helps some.

~V~   unoeriksson, what music is on your iPod or in your car CD player?

Unoeriksson   Hmmm.. tricky question V. Mostly In Flames, Maiden, Helloween... I like almost all metal and try to get inspiration from it and combine it to my own drumming.

~V~   Helloween and Maiden are both very good bands and great influences.

unoeriksson   Thanks a lot V. Yes I think so, We played the official Iron Maiden after party when they played in Stockholm summer of -08.

~V~   That would be a blast to be a part of something like that.

Unoeriksson   It was!

~V~   unoerikksson - what is the brand of your Drum set?

Unoeriksson   My drums are Tama and the cymbals Paiste. (I´m NOT sponsored, but if anyone se this... call me! Hehe)

unoeriksson   I must comment our band name: Twins Crew. I´m a part of the "crew" The twins David and Dennis Janglöv on guitar are the ones who started the band, and they studied in Hollywood at the GIT and graduated with honors.

unoeriksson   Me and the twins studied at the same elementary-school as kids... and when they came back from the US they found Anderas (singer) and Hammar (bass) on an add in a magazine, and then they called me, luckily my old band was just splitting up.

~V~   An awesome bit of information about the band. I’ve often wondered how a band comes up with the name.

~V~   Uno, if you had your pick of any band to play along with, who would it be and why?

unoeriksson   Oh... on that question I really must answer Helloween, because that´s the band who made me start playing drums. And Uli Kuch is my biggest influence of all time

~ V~   Would you or anyone of the band be willing to make a Sweeper for us to use here at ERR? It could possibly bring you a bigger fan base.

Unoeriksson   Of course! That´s a really good idea!

~V~   Thanks alot! When you have a free moment, email me at mail and I'll give you the details on generating the Sweeper.

~V~   The song writing process, are you all a part of it, and do you go into seclusion to write, and what comes first...the lyrics or the music?

unoeriksson   Mostly some of the twins right the music and Andreas the lyrics, and we just put the songs together in the rehearsal.

unoeriksson   You know... tunes are not my thing, hehe... just rhythms.

unoeriksson   Most often the music comes first

~V~   Other bands have said the same thing... the music comes before the lyrics.

unoeriksson   But Andreas writes hundreds of lyrics, and when he here the music, he often has a lyric that he just have to adjust a bit.

~V~   I would love to stick around and chat some more but I have to get back to my paying job.  Thanks so much for dropping by to check us out, and the interview unoeriksson! I hope you return again and again and I'll wait for your email on that Sweeper.

~V~   Sounds like you have lots of material for us fans.

unoeriksson   Take care! Í will be here a lot... love this station! I promise you will hear more from us! Thanks for a great station!

~V~   We look forward to your return!

Really nice, Valerie........especially for an unplanned interview.  Grin It's really cool for ERR to get behind an unsigned band just starting out.

Well, you know... They're actually pretty darn good.  We get submissions from unsigned bands all day long, and unfortunately we have to turn nearly every one of them down because the music simply isn't of broadcast quality.  :-(  They, however, did an excellent job.
