Question:
Is it time to bring the Glorious Janitors back to Epic Rock Radio?
Hell yes! Betrayal on the Spanish Main is epic Pirate metal!
Hell no! I've heard better music on an 8 bit Nintendo!
I know the music, but I don't really have an opinion either way.
I don't know, I've never heard them before.

Glorious Janitors just had one of their songs requested, the pirate epic called "Betrayal on the Spanish Main".
I think it's a pretty good song! Considering they are unsigned and operating with very little money, the quality of the recording is excellent.
My only real issue is that sometimes it seems as though the vocalist is struggling a bit. Jordan tells me that on their previous album he sang with clean vocals. I think he's still trying to get his bearings. He's got a good voice for this style of music, just needs more time in the saddle I think. I wonder if the vocalist does the spoken narration that happens a little more than halfway through the track.
The only other things I could mention is that I'd love to hear the drummer do some double bass. Other than that, for an unsigned band with nobody backing them, they sound great, I think.
Opinions?

*thumbs up* I really like the stuff. It's rough around the edges, but you're not professionally produced so that's not surprising. I'm still hoping to hear some feedback from some of the other listeners.
Hint, hint.

You're so dang clever, Kailef.
I liked that track a lot, actually. There is a part of me that wished I was a pirate. My friends and I have the "ninjas vs. pirates" discussion all the time, and pirates always win, because ninjas don't get laid.
Anyways, I really enjoyed "Betrayal on the Spanish Main," and I'd love to hear more of their stuff soon. Rock on!

*nods* Won't let you request the same artist within an hour of it's being previously played.

darkstar how can you say ninja don't get laid ninja sex is so complicated non ninja's head would explode if you knew that it was happening plus if you see a ninja they have to kill themselves and kunoichi (female ninja) are hot unlike female pirate wenches so ninja win by default

It goes back to the whole Ninja vs. Pirate debate - apparently Darkstar offended one of my roommates, who are very Pro-Ninja. It's a politcal hotpoint in this house, in fact, I think both of them are voting Ninja in the next election.
Back to the topic, even my ninja-loving roommates agree that Betrayal is really catchy, and Valhalla caught my interest. Janitors are pretty darn good, they sound like one of those bands that will only get better over time.
Though I wouldn't turn down a little double bass, but that's just me...

I echo the sentiments of Jordan and Brent, I'd like to thank everyone's support of our band. One thing I noticed is that the mp3s aren't quite the quality they are on the CD, which is too bad because you can't hear it on the radio quite as well as on the CD. Nonetheless, everyone has been really receptive to our songs, and I really appreciate that. I only have 2 other things to say...first, I'm gonna work on getting our drummer to learn double kick, and second, pirates would kick ninjas' ass any day of the week!
Loran (the guitarist)
PS This is a great station. This is pretty much all I listen to now. Rock on.
