Title: Interested in ERR T-Shirts?
Post by: i_am_fabio on March 04, 2008, 03:52:20 pm
Alright, that Sonata Arctica concert a couple weeks back got me thinking......we need ERR shirts. There were so many from ERR in attendance that it would have been awesome to wear our ERR shirts. Also a great way to identify eachother for times when we meeting up with fellow ERR'ers at the show. Maestro and i are thinking about getting some made up. Since Maestro is a master shirt designer and knows his stuff it should be a pretty smooth process. But before we get into all the details, we're looking to see how many people would be interested in getting one. So what do you think? Anybody that would be interested let it be known.

I'll start things off.......I Want One!...............(my girlfriends voice from the next room over) "Me Too!". So there's a start.

And if you all could....maybe mention T-Shirts in the shoutbox over the next couple days, i notice there a many who regular there who don't make their way into the forum (at least they are not registered here). Hopefully there will be enough interested to get a nice little batch made up. Because the more that we get made the cheaper we can get the quality product made for. I don't know too much about the T-Shirt business so i'll have Maestro get in here and explain some of the options we can look to see. More details coming soon.  8)

I think Id be interested, if the cost was reasonable.  Maybe if there is enough interest, someone here who is good at drawing could come up with several designs and we could all vote on it or something like that. Secret ballots in a PM of course. And the maybe Kailef would have the final say. ;)

Well there's a start.

That's the Attitude!  :D

And of course we sould try and get them to you as cheap as we could. And about the design......Joe said he had some friends working on the design of some new logos....maybe one of those could be used. And as for you last thought, the vote, that would be cool......but i doubt we get enough people to make good logos/designs that we would need a vote. But i guess it's a thought. So Joe maybe you can fill in a little more details about those guys you got working on the ERR logos......what's the story?  ;D

I'm sort of in the same boat as Oser, I've got to watch my spending over the next 6 months or so, but if it's a super cool design, I'll get one.

I'm down.  I have the old one, perhaps a different graphic could be used for the new one though.  ;)

My graphic design buddy actually works for me, so I see him every day.  We only just talked about creating a new ERR logo last night, so I don't know if he's had the time to come up with anything.  As soon as he does, though, I'll post it here and get some opinions.  If he doesn't come through for us, I've got a few other guys I know with art degrees that would jump at a chance to do something like this.  Oh, and I might as well take this opportunity to say that I will be buying at least one shirt, if not a second one for the girlfriend, as soon as they're available... if not sooner.

::Update::
He's going to work on it this weekend when he has some free time.

My friend says that he was busier than he thought he'd this weekend and didn't quite get it finished.  He should have it final copy finished tonight.

I'm excited to see what it is.  It's kind of neat to see how someone else would imagine our logo would look.  (I certainly have no idea.  Like I said somewhere else on this forum, I can't even draw stick figures very well....)

Use Trekman's old logo, the stickman headbanging.  :P

Alright guys, here it is.  Please bare in mind that this is originally designed for use on a t-/sweatshirt, but the colors can be changed to suit any use.

Let me know what you think.

Uh.  That's only makes our triangle logo look like a... a.... triangle.  *laugh*  That's really sweet, it would look awesome on a T-Shirt or sweatshirt.  Seriously.

I can get Fabio, or Maestro, or whoever is making the shirts the original file so that colors can be changed depending on the background of the shirt.  Also, if anyone can think of a way to improve the logo, let me know.

I am not artistically skilled enough to be anywhere near qualified to say anything about the logo itself except it looks awesome.

If it was on a shirt/etc, I'd say we'd want our slogan on it somewhere. "Metal the way it should be" or "Where the music matters most".  (I like "Metal the way it should be" personally)  And the website address somewhere.  That's all I can think of.

I wonder if I could manage to make a banner along the lines of that logo...  Erm, nevermind, one thing at a time.

That is flat out metal-rockin' head-bangin' bad-ass-ness.   ;D

Awesome.  Print it, I'll take one (at least)

I like the pic too. But agree with Kailef. It should have some cool slogan. And definatly the web address. ;)

And a personal request, I dont know about any of the rest of you but Im a big guy. ::) I have to have  a 2XX size and even could wear a 3XX if it was made available. ;)

I'm right there with you, trekman.  I've got to have at least 3X in a shirt.  Regardless, the final version of the logo should be done this weekend/Monday.

Alright guys, here's the finished logo.  I hope you like it... unfortunately he didn't put the border I requested around it, but that's alright.  The background isn't gray, it's transparent.

I'm reminded of Guitar Hero, but that fact has no relevance towards (a) how much I love this @#$*&$ logo!!!, or (b) my fervent desire to get a shirt with this on it.  Patiently waiting to order 1 XL size shirt...  ;D

Sweet! So then would the shirts be white?

Ew.  No.  White is not metal.  BLACK, sir.  BLACK is metal.  ;)
(I can honestly say a white shirt would be a dealbreaker for me)

Technically, the shirts could be any color.  Although I have to admit, when my friend put this logo onto a black background so I could see what it would look like, it looks AWESOME on black.  You'd think that it wouldn't show up very well, but the flames aren't actually black, and it looks good.

does it have  www.epicrockradio.com on it somewhere? ;)

That'd be something we'd have to add onto the shirt elsewhere, along with the stations slogan.  Probably on the back of the shirt or something.

Ah, OK, that's kind of what I was thinking, but if it shows up on black *rockin*!

Last I heard Fabio and Maestro were working on the logistics of getting them put onto shirts, but were having some difficulties.  Since I don't know the details, I'll let one of them explain what's going on.

Title: Re: Interested in ERR T-Shirts?
Post by: i_am_fabio on April 15, 2008, 01:37:48 pm
Alright well here lies the problem. If we use the company that Maestro suggested it's gonna cost me outta pocket whatever the cost of getting the shirts scanned and completed, plus then i would have to pay for all shipping costs to each person who wanted a shirt. And i'd almost be willing to do this if not for the fear of being left with a bunch of extra shirts and having to eat the money i spent buying them all. And really we have to order a certain amount of shirts to get a good price. Maestro is currently checking into the details of this (how much more it would be to make one at a time on an order to order basis, which he is thinking is gonna be alot). So i will have a better idea soon of what the actual damage would be either way.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be better, let me know. Maybe there is an easier way i'm overlooking.  :)

We should check with the awesome guys at Synergy who are doing our current shirts - Even if they charge us to make the new ones, I'm sure they'll give us a great price.

The guys at Synergy would be great, but only if they can get us shirts larger than 2X, and it doesn't look like they do that with the current shirts.

So, have we heard from SMC about whether or not they can incorporate a new logo/shirt in the ERR Merchandise Line-up?  Kai?
