Sounds like TSO's "The Moment" has some distortion/skipping in it.

Same thing with TSO's "A Last Illusion."  Maybe the whole album has the problem.

Nice to see Tyr - How Far to Asgard on ERR, but you really should do something about the title track.  It's currently set at over 29 minutes long, but the track is actually only about nine minutes.  Following that, there's ten minutes of silence then a nine minute long "bonus track" that's  just the band singing a traditional Faroese folk-song rather drunkenly.  I don't think we need the bonus track nor the ten minutes of silence in between, so you might consider editing that out and re-uploading the track.

Eyes Of Shiva 's song "Innocent Souls" has some skips in playback.

Eyes Of Shiva 's song "Innocent Souls" has some skips in playback.

Add "Non-Violence" to that too; who knows, maybe their whole "Deep" album has skipping?

Epica's "Death of a Dream: The Embrace That Smothers, Pt. 7" is covered in awful, awful skippiness. However, the rest of the album is fine, which seems unusual compared to the other contents of this thread, so I'd like this verified by someone else too.

Hi Kailef!

Just requested and listened to Falconerīs "Dreams and Pyres" from Among Beggars and Thieves, man itīs great! A big thanks for putting ABAT up so fast!!!

Anyway, Iīm here to moan about something, of course  ;D

When requesting and playing the song, the album cover that is shown is that from Falconerīs first album. Certainly not a big issue, I just thought I should mention it.

Thanks again for all your great work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing major.....barely even minor really......but thouht i'd mentiong that At Vance's 'Princess of Ice' has about a five second section towards the beginning of the song where it skips.  :)

The Scarecrow album by Avantasia is not playing correctly. Have gotten a few complaints on different occasions. It's in the queue.....then just get skipped over when it's time for it to play. I haven't seen it happen myself, but this is how it was explained to me more than once. Hope you can take a look into it.  8)

i'll toss a req for avantasia up later, all songs from them that i've heard have always played correctly, barring any 'buffering' from overburdened network

I believe the song by Nocturnal Rites is called 'Fools Never Die' and NOT 'Never Die'. Thank you!  :)

EDIT:  Ignore it... I just forgot that there's another Nocturnal song called Never Die... But why don't you have Fools never die? I can swear I heard it on ERR...

Dream Theaters "Perfect Strangers' was playing. After a couple minutes it jumped around/cut out and then just went into the next artist/song in the playlist. I'll request it again next time I stop in and see if it does it again. ;)

I heard SAM play it once a few days ago. I think it's just been removed from the requests because people were abusing it.

Ok so I know this has been an issue with sonic firestorm on eer for a long time but it still gives me a surprise every time I hear something different to what's on the screen. That in mind, here are the incorrect sonic firestorm songs correctly named in order they appear in the song library. I identified some by listening and others by playtime, so people may want to double check these. I know this isn't a final solution, but may help avoid request disappointment!

5.46 (marked Fields of Despair) = Cry of the Brave
5.25 (marked Above the Winter Moonlight) = Fields of Despair
7:31 (marked Soldiers of the Wasteland) = Above the Winter Moonlight
9:46 (marked Prepare for War) = Soldiers of the Wasteland
6:15 (marked Once in a Lifetime) = Prepare for War
8.06 (marked Cry of the Brave) = Once in a lifetime

I believe the other three are correct.

Noticed that Andromeda's "Morphing Into Nothing" song cut out about 4 mins early. I'll check at home if this is the case. *EDIT* Checked this at home and my copy runs the full 7 mins.

I'll list some of the other "fake" long songs so that they can be fixed:

Tyr - How Far to Asgaard
Dark Moor - Vivaldi's Winter
Alkemyst - Nameless Son
Sonata Arctica - (can't remember, know there is one though)
Kamelot - Fall From Grace
Heed - The Flight (think this is one)
Edguy - Theater of Salvation
Battlelore - Ride With the Dragons
Oratory - A New Quest
Bruce Dickinson - The Alchemist

18:10) Nameless Son: Chapter II: The Falling Star/Chapter III: Visions & Doubt [Requested]
(2003) Alkemyst - Meeting in the Mist

This song has a long silence (about 2 min) at the end before some added bonus (which is kind of dumb) can we clip the end off?

Title: Re: Any problem with a song, reporting here!!

That song does get clipped at about 12 mins. SAM is set up to automagically (:P) cut to the next song if there's more than 7 seconds (I think it's 7 anyway) of silence. I listed some of the "fake" long songs a few post above. ;D

Thanks, FeuerFrei!

I'll look into that sometime this weekend.  Now that I'm thinking about this... I have no idea when that album was added to the library, but I know it's been a semi-long time ago and you are the first person (that I know of) who has noticed this, considering how often Pagan's Mind, is played.

ReinXeed newly added album Majestic has been merged with Gamma Ray album Majestic.
One of the songs played was very well known to me Blood Religion and I know for a fact it was in the wrong place.  So I did some looking and the Majestic album under Gamma Ray is missing.  Tricky tricky  ;D ;D
ReinXeed - Majestic
1. Deep Under Sea
2. Invincible
3. Never Lie
4. Once Upon A Time
5. Melody Of Life
6. Atlantis
7. Second Chance
8. My Paradise
9. Neverland

Um, this is not a problem as such but the eight parts of Ghost Ship on Shadow Gallery's Carved in Stone album should really be merged into one track making it one epic length track like something like The Odyssey. Otherwise the individual parts don't really stand on their own very well and aren't likely to be requested. But as one track...who knows?  BTW, I really like Shadow Gallery.

Also, on the track listing for Black Clouds and Silver Linings, Disc 1 and Disc 2 are mixed in together and pedantically speaking should perhaps be separated. :D

On the Jeanne D'Arc track listing, there's a typo for Siege of Paris. Minor stuff but I saw it so I thought I'd let you know.

Cheers ;D

I think this problem happens alot in the library due to albums being "Re-released" or "Re-mastered". Not positive if this is the case with that specific album. But i have found that to be the case in many of the albums where i have noticed the issue. So the data on the disc is showing the "re-release" date instead of when the album was originally released.

I would think that the same thing should be done for disc 2 of Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence too.  Those were always meant to be one song with 8 parts.

Hey V, that Manowar song is still wrong.  You may need to re-rip it or something.  It's showing as Sting of the Bumblebee, but the song actually playing is Pleasure Slave.

On the actual CD Kings of Metal, Bumblebee is track 4 and 2:41 long.  It shows as 5:37 on ERR.  Pleasure Slave shows as 5:58 on ERR - haven't actually tried to play that one, myself, to see if it is the correct one.  My copy is 5:38.  Actually, looking at mine, that's probably Hail and Kill.  What ERR has as Hail and Kill is probably The Warriors Prayer.  And What ERR has as The Warriors Prayer is probably Blood of the Kings.  And Bumblebee is just missing.

Fixed!!!

Hear Me Calling by Gamma Ray sounds really muffled for some reason. Maybe it's just the recording?

Hey, there are a few minor details on Iron Mask's "Hordes of the Brave" album which need correcting.

First of all, the album was released in 2005, NOT 2010.

Secondly, the song "Alexander The Great" is actually called "Alexander The Great - (Hordes of the Brave, part one)"

Also, the tracklisting is in the wrong order, which has caught me out many a time
It should be this:

1. Holy War
2. Freedom's Blood [The Patriot]
3. Time
4. The Invisible Empire
5. Demon's Child
6. High In The Sky
7. Alexander The Great - (Hordes of the Brave, part one)
8. Crystal Tears
9. Iced Wind of the North
10. My Eternal Flame
11. Troops of Avalon

Sorry to be picky, but I just think this would make things clearer :) Thanks :)

There seem to be two songs missing on the recently added "Carnage Victory" album by Sacred Steel. The songs are "Don't Break The Oath" (track 2) and "By Vengeance And Hatred We Ride" (track 11).

A couple of times I've tried to request tracks from 'Anthropia - The Ereyn Chronicles' and they've just completely skipped so there must be some sort of problem in playing those files.

Thanks for letting us know, Muzz... they should play now.

(BTW... while going through the trouble-shooting steps, I found out that Anthropia is another one-man band with many guest musicians)

I was just wondering why Draw Me by  Sonata Arctica on the album here, is almost 9mins or so long, but on the regular album its only 4:05 minutes long.

Which is the song length, would there be any way to fix that?

Title: Re: Any problem with a song, reporting here!!

problem with an artist on the request list actualy...
With Sonata Arctica there are quite a few flaws.
- It says Ecliptica is from 2003, but its not, its from 1999
- It says Reckoning night is from 2005, its not, its from 2004
- Deliverance is an illigal bootleg and not an official album!! i like to see it removed

So if one of the mods will fix that, i'd be happy :)

Lindarctica,

Thanks for your comments.  You are right about the dates on Ecliptica and Reckoning Night, we'll get those fixed.

I'll look on to Deliverance.  The album is for sale, although currently out of stock, at Amazon.com, (Amazon Standard Identification Number "B001F4RYOU") so I'm a little bit confused as to how it could have been sold by a major retailer like Amazon without being legitimate.  Yet, when I look on Sonata Arctica's website and view their discography, I don't see Deliverance there.

If you look at the picture below, it appears that somebody, somewhere, has gone through a LOT of trouble to make the "Deliverance" album actually look like a legitimate release, right down to cover art, band photos, liner notes, and a CD sleeve.  I wonder what the heck is going on.

According to the label, it was released by Universal / Spinefarm.  We'll begin an investigation and see what we can find out.  We will also try to contact Sonata Arctica directly and see if perhaps they will give their permission for us to air it as well - Some of the songs on there are really quite good.

Deliverance (a compilation) was purchased back in February 2010 from lala.com.  I don't have any experience in this area but if it was not a legal CD, wouldn't be impossible to purchase it anywhere?

@ kailef. It is stated at the FAQ at sonata arctica's website its a bootleg.  I quote:
What is with this album called "Deliverance"?
It is a bootleg (piracy version)! Nothing official -> it's illegal. It wasn't released by the band nor will be released any time in the future. All the material on this 'album' can be found as B-sides on other official releases. Don't believe any rumours that are spreading in the internet if you don't have any official source (e.g. www.sonataarctica.info or www.nuclearblast.de).

Yes the makers put a lot of (wasted) trouble in there, thats why even amazon.com believed it. But its a fake.

@ reichwolf. another qoute from Sonata's FAQ: What is said at the end of Winterheart's Guild?
One day a bird flew into the studio, and a guy tries to get it out. Finally he succeeds, so Tony says that he should win an award from Greenpeace ("Ansaitsetteko greenpeacen") - the guy answers: "Yeah, a bird meal!" (-"Lintupaistin") Then, after the silence, Henkka says "Mä oon Henkka ja mä tulin nyt." -> I'm Henkka and I come now.

the silence is a mistake in the album, but becouse it was quite a funny mistake they let it in there.

Title: Re: Any problem with a song, reporting here!!
Post by: Kailef on August 09, 2011, 11:03:30 am
Lindartica, thanks for gathering that information for us.  According to what you've gathered, the album itself is not an official release, but all of the material on the "album" was officially released in some fashion or another.

I sent an email to Sonata Arctica asking them what they'd like us to do about the album.  (Since it is all officially released material despite it not being an official album, it means that Sonata Arctica is receiving royalties from us for each play, since we record every song that we put on the air and report it to RIAA, who then disburses royalties to the labels and artists)

I'm not sure if the song is missing because it is a bonus song or what, but "Koennin Kuokkamies" is not listed for the Korpiklaani album Karkelo. In my less than humble opinion it is the best song off the album so I figured I'd at least mention it.

There a duplicate/wrong song name in the Lunatica album Fables and Dreams.

  (http://img253.imagevenue.com/loc236/th_940969831_lunatica_122_236lo.JPG) (http://img253.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=940969831_lunatica_122_236lo.JPG)

In my computers library I have:
Quote from: Winamp
10 tracks in playlist, average track length: 5:09
Playlist length: 51 minutes 39 seconds

Playlist files:

1. Lunatica - The Search Goes On (4:15)
2. Lunatica - Avalon (3:42)
3. Lunatica - Elements (6:54)
4. Lunatica - Fable Of Dreams (5:22)
5. Lunatica - Still Believe (6:11)
6. Lunatica - The Spell (4:48)
7. Lunatica - The Neverending Story (5:36)
8. Lunatica - Hymn (4:30)
9. Lunatica - Silent Scream (5:23)
10. Lunatica - A Little Moment Of Desperation (4:58)

So I dont know where the extra song came from. Is a special version? Just a mistake?

Hi Kailef and Valerie,

first of all- thanks for all your awesome work with ERR. I just love this station and the whole idea behind it.  ;D

I discovered a mistake so. In the album Infinity of Beto Vazquez the song Sadness In The Night is originally 7:02 min long and sounds like that:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nDXsOwwTy4 (song number 23, sorry I couldn't find a stand-alone version of it).

What plays on ERR in it's place, with the correct title I might add, is an instrumental piece I can't place.

Hope that helps.

Warmest regards,
GR

Hi again,

still on about the Infinity- album  ;)

I looked through my CD's again: The track list goes as such:

1.  Until Dawn (Angels of Light)        7:39      ( listed on as ERR 7:40)
2.  Wizard                                      5:10      ( 5:10)
3.  The Battle of the Past                4:23      (7:03)
4.  Sadness In The Night                 7:02      (1:41)
5.  Through Times Part I                 1:41      (2:28)
6.  Through Times Part II                2:27      (2:50)
7.  Golden Hair                               2:49      (4:02)
8.  Infinity Space                            4:01      (4:39)
9.  Through Times Part III               4:38      (4:41)
10. The Laws of the Future             4:40      (5:39)
11. Promises Under The Rain            5:37      (4:22)

I tried it out, and The Battle of the Past actually plays as Sadness in the Night. So by looking at song's length it appears that from No.3 onward things got mixed up.

Hope that clarifies what I was trying to say.

Have a good day.
Regards from the Raven  ;)

Serenade of Self-Destruction by Epica (Requiem for the Indifferent) does not have vocals in it. It was originally mistakenly released with only instrumental+choir, but was then later corrected, but apparently it is still the old, wrong version here on ERR.

FF, I think I found the problem.  System was auto-detecting what it thought was the end of a song and starting a crossfade.  Should be fixed, now.

You better try again, this problem is NOT fixed.

SAM just chopped off the final 4 1/2 minute's of Angra's Carolina IV because the song got to a soft section. Right when the song got to a few seconds past 6 minutes the next song barged right in. This Angra song does briefly slow down at that section, but it is the build up before an epic comeback and guitar solo.

I don't think this song ending auto-detect feature is compatible with ERR's music library.

"Masterplan - Sail On" plays well into the next song, "Into the Light". And I'm guessing that song is affected by this too, because its listed track length is way off what is should be. "Kind Hearted Light" is missing from the track list of that album entirely.

Also, somewhat off topic, as it's not a specific issue with any song, but something that affects some songs more than others: there seems to be some dynamic volume-adjusting plugin in place, that doesn't do a very good job with heavier songs that have some quieter parts in it, often amplifying those parts way too much. Would it be possible to switch to something that applies a constant volume adjustment to an entire song (e.g. like ReplayGain can do), rather than something that sometimes seems to be playing with the volume level every few seconds mid-song?

3. While Heaven Wept's the Furthest Shore is listed as 11:54, but the actual length is: 15:51, whick gives us the possibility to cheat and request 2 songs over 20 min in total. (not a real problem I admit ;-))

1.  I don't know why the Transylvania track is not included on the Iced Earth's Horror Show CD.  We can possibly look for that track and get it added at a later date.
2.  We've had some complaints at the frequency of The Great Escape was playing, so it was temporarily removed from the library.
3.  I'll take a look at The Furthest Shore.

Minor problem:

The year of the album
Golden Ressurection - One Voice For The Kingdom
shows (0)

 ;D

Edit: Oh, but only when we select a song, it shows 2012 when it's playing

There were a couple of tracks that showed a (0) for the release date.
It's correct now.
Thank you  :)

Another minor problem:

(2:21) Goin All the Way [Requested]
 (4) Coldspell - Frozen Paradise

This song is showing (4) as the year.  ;D

Hi, on Apocalytica's album Inquisition Symphony  only "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is noted a being a cover when there are seven other cover songs on that album. Same with their next album Cult, where the last two songs are Metallica covers and "Hall of the Mountain King" is an Edvard Grieg cover.

Speaking of which, there is a typo on "Prelude to Madness" by Savatage. It says [Edvard Grieg cove].

Thank you, Djbj.  The typo was corrected and the "cover" songs get tagged as I get the time.  It's good to know which songs are covers as I'm not always abreast to it.  I'll get those cover songs edited as soon as possible.

I just tossed the Adagio track into the queue and it played, so, I'm not sure what happened.

Okay, there is a problem with that song and not the album.  I'll get back to you on this.

Thank you for making to changes to Apocalyptica, however you mispelled "Metallica" as "Metalica" on a few of the tracks. Also, to be anal about it, could you capitalize the O in "From out of Nowhere"?

There are several more more untagged covers I found:
* There are four covers on Adrenaline Mob's Dearly Departed release: Snortin' Whiskey, Devil Went Down to Georgia, Black Sabbath Medley,
and Tie Your Mother Down. Also, to be really anal, Angel Sky [AcousticVersion] is missing a space.
* For Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, the bonus tracks on their two albums are each covers: March of Time is Helloween and Thundersteel is Riot.
* On Gamma Ray's 'Heading for Tomorrow', Look At Yourself is an Uriah Heep cover.
* Jorn's 'Symphonic' album has two Dio covers on it. Also, "Time To Be King" is technically a Masterplan cover, if that counts.
* I don't know how necessary this is, but none of the tracks on Jorn's Dio album are tagged.

I've tagged most of the songs that are covers except for, Jorn's Dio album since the entire album is a tribute to Ronnie James Dio.  Don't see the point in tagging that album.  :)

Recently, SAM played the track "Restless [Live]" from Within Temptation's Mother Earth, except that the track was actually a live performance of "Deciever of Fools". I later requested "The Dance [Live]" as a test and it was actually a live performance of "Ice Queen". It seems the bonus tracks are actually from the Roadrunner Records edition of the album and that would make "Enter [Live]" actually "Candles [Live]" and "Caged [Live]" correct.

Also, the tracklist for Hydra is all mixed up with the bonus tracks intermixed with the regular tracks. In fact, I've noticed this with a bunch of albums that have bonus disks.

More often than not, these issues happen with MP3 purchases.  I'll research and get those corrected as soon as possible.

The track "July Morning" on Axel Rudi Pell's album The Masquerade Ball cuts off early. It is supposed to be 9:58 but it is listed as 6:47 and cuts off at that point when played. Also, it is an Uriah Heep cover.

On Warmen's Accept the Fact, the track "Return of Salieri" has the tag [feat. Alexi Laiho][Rockwell cover]. That actually belongs on the next track, "Somebody's Watching Me". "Return of Salieri" is an instrumental.

The tracks "The Demon's Whip" by Manowar and "La Villa Strangiato" by Rush were in the queue back to back, but they were both skipped.

"Nemesis" from Stratovarius (the song) has some weird ticking sound in the end that isn't supposed to be there; seems to be part of this version of the track itself.

Hi :)
Maybe someone already said something about Adagio song Codex Oscura from album Archangels in Black.... but if noone didn't say anything. .... That song is not playing at all. I requested few times and it just jumps on next song from queue :(

Was this Manowar track ever fixed? Manowar in general seems to have a lot of tracks getting skipped. "Warriors Prayer" also has this problem. There was another one too I tried a few weeks ago... was either "Burning" or "Demon's Whip" that also got skipped forget which one now.

If it's not known yet, Rush's La Villa Strangiato [Instrumental] doesn't play (album: Chronicles).

The song "The Man Who Saw Through Time" is missing on the new Threshold. That is the best track, so hope it gets fixed!
