From the title, I was expecting it to be shot in Saskatchewan.  Tongue

Watched/listened to "Inis Mona" on Youtube... and I agree with one of the comments there: "Love the guy trying to look badass with the bagpipe."  Grin

Other than that, I thought it's ok, I probably wouldn't request it but I don't hate it either, though I'm admittedly not much of a folk metal fan.

...completely rearranged and re-recorded the greatest songs and melodies...

Man, they weren't kidding. I just got through "Future World" and man, it sounds like they were all sitting around a camp fire and decided to play stuff and record it. I haven't quite decided if it's good or not yet, leaning towards not so good.  Sad

Well, I skipped most of the other songs and got about 1/3 through "The Keeper's Trilogy" and I would agree that it's the best on the disc. However, it's not metal, and I hope it's not Helloween either. I hope this is a bad joke. Thankfully it was free so I don't feel quite as ripped off as I would have if I would have paid money for it. It's just terrible.

Metal Helloween >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (etc...) Lounge Music Helloween.

Terrible! /cry
4  General / Epic Rock News / Re: New Request Policy (Updated: Mar 4/2010) on: March 15, 2010, 07:33:35 am
I've noticed in here and in the shoutbox that it has been observed by many people that all the new queue-shortening policies can be used by a person so inclined to spam reqs of the same band over and over with greater efficiency. I have no reason to accuse anybody of doing that yet, but if someone starts, (1) would it be possible to prohibit a requestor from req'ing the same band more than once in, say, 24hrs, and (2) would this sort of action actually be taken, or would this count as more of a "feature" than a "bug?"

I heartily endorse increasing the 2h band limit, and the 6h song limit, though I would prefer a global increase. There's more than enough bands/songs in the library that I don't think we need to hear the same band/song as often as we currently can.

I don't quite understand the implications here... What do you mean by "makes it easier to spam the same band"?  There is an enforced limit of two hours during which the band cannot be played again, right?  So, I guess I don't follow what you mean.

I think what he means is that certain people only request certain bands, thus as Oser said, they have both a monopoly on that artist as well as increasing their request count (though no more than the band could have gotten, but more than what the general station consensus would indicate...hope that makes sense).

I think we need some Leverage on here

Get's my stamp of approval.

Sweet, looking forward to it. Hopefully there's a little more *buttrock* this time.  Grin
7  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: Free Amazon Nuclear Blast Sampler on: March 11, 2010, 07:50:04 am
Well, I'll see if I can download this...probably not though.

Nope, only available to the lower 48.

-Edit 2-
On the subject of samplers, from this link:
I am pleased to bring you a FREE 17 song sampler from my friends at Ulterium Records. This sampler features new and old songs from bands like Sinbreed, Audiovision, Theocracy, Harmony, Ivory Moon, Incrave, Darkwater, Grand Lux, Seventh Avenue, as well as a “T.B.A.” track from a mystery band. This is all melodic metal stuff so if you’re into that genre, you’ll love this sampler! Download below.
Not limited to the lower 48.  Tongue
8  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: Timeless Miracle - ABDUCTED by ALIENS!!! on: March 01, 2010, 07:10:53 am
It's quite obvious.

They went on a voyage that lead them through the dark side of the forest. Unfortunately for them, they were hit with the curse of the werewolf. Upon learning of this curse, their memories filled with the knowledge of how to cure it. They must journey down to the gallows, through the gates of hell (guarded by the witches of black magic), and finally go into the enchanted chamber. The chamber houses the devil...and a red rose, the cure for the curse! After a minor intermezzo, I will regail you with the rest of the story.

Awesome! It's been far, far too long since the last TQT disc.
10  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: Yngwie Malmsteen video on: February 16, 2010, 07:03:55 am
The reason it starts at 60s is because at the end of your link it has this string: "#t=60" which means "start at time = 60 seconds". If you delete that part (end at the ...J8), it starts at the beginning. Further to this, YouTube vids are categorized by the 11 digit code after the "?v=___________", this is all you ever need to link YouTube vids.

And now back to your regularly scheduled :buttrock:.

Well, you know how it goes with magic, so good at first, then everything goes pear shaped.

Cookie for the reference.  Grin
12  General / Requests and Suggestions / Re: Any problem with a song, reporting here!! on: February 10, 2010, 09:30:59 am
That song does get clipped at about 12 mins. SAM is set up to automagically (Tongue) cut to the next song if there's more than 7 seconds (I think it's 7 anyway) of silence. I listed some of the "fake" long songs a few post above. Grin
13  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: K A M E L O T to Film European Tour Dates for a DVD Release on: February 09, 2010, 07:05:31 am
All the concerts here say that too, but I've never had my camera taken away, and neither have the hundreds of others taking shots right in front of security guys. I don't think it'll be an issue.* Grin

14  General / Epic Rock News / Re: Epic Queue Length Cut Out on: February 08, 2010, 08:26:24 am
We've bandied about the idea of different request restrictions based on the number of songs in the queue, back when the problem was the exact opposite Tongue, and (Oser correct me if I'm wrong) I think the conclusion was that it was just too difficult to be worth it. I do agree though, it would be cool to do it if we could.

Mentioned 'em on the SB a couple times, I think people think I lie about the bands I mention being good...or somethin'. Tongue
