I'd give that song a 6/10. Too much growl and not really orchestral, but lots of Zombies and Zombie killing.

Next up: Earth Day by Devin Townsend
17  General / Top 10 lists / Re: Epic song list on: October 09, 2011, 11:33:20 am
Can we all agree that these songs fit into this category?

Fairyland - Score to a New Beginning

Stratovarius - Elements

Elvenking - Rouse Your Dream

Theocracy - Mirror of Souls

Dream Theater - Octavarium

Edguy - Theater of Salvation

Avantasia - The Seven Angels/The Wicked Symphony

Luca Turilli - King of the Nordic Twilight

Sonata Arctica - White Pearls, Black Oceans

There's a lot more but here's a few to start off with..
18  General / Off Topic / I'M BACK !! on: October 09, 2011, 11:25:41 am
So after a hectic few months concerning some aspects of my life, both socially and academically, I have humbly returned to Epic Rock Radio. I hope you have all been well in my absence and have stayed metal at times when I, unfortunately, have not been. I have missed you all in my lengthy disappearance and now return to you all with much optimism.

I will go and say it was pure genius. Dance metal comes to mind Tongue 8/10

Next up: Something a little calmer than usual;

Enchant - Colour's Fade

I don't care about a new line up, get on with releasing the new album ! Tongue

I've been told that "Being John Malcovich" is a good film. Can anyone comment on this statement?

Also, finally got round to watching Sin City lately. Odd film, just like a comic book. Still thought it was good though

I don't know what I just watched. Was it electro or metal? Whatever it was, as much as I liked the overall sound I can't help but laugh at how ridiculous the video was. It looked like they were trying a bit too hard to be energetic.

I'd give it a 6/10.

Here's my next choice....for those that know about anime.
Nightmare - Alumina
24  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: Symphony X Fall 2011 EUR Tour Dates on: July 08, 2011, 02:29:40 pm
Once again not coming to the UK. Seems we're too crap of a country for the good stuff to arrive. I'm moving to the rest of Europe then

Gabe Newell with a guitar = awesome. Shame the song didn't live up to the hype. Too much growl, not even catchiness (sp?) 3/10

Next up

Korpiklaani - Vodka

(Why has this not already been put in this thread? Tongue )
26  General / Requests and Suggestions / Re: More Gothic Symphonic Metal Bands Please :) on: July 04, 2011, 12:24:23 pm
Some Gothic metal is pretty good imo, so long as there isn't much growling in the songs.
27  General / Off Topic / Re: Any GAMERS out there? on: July 04, 2011, 12:11:11 pm
Currently swapping between Bioshock (PC), GTA4 (PS3), Duke Nukem (PS3), Worms Reloaded (PC) & Assassins Creed: Brotherhood (PS3)
28  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: How Did You Hear About Epic Rock Radio? on: July 01, 2011, 02:28:33 pm
Back in 2007, after listening to bands such as Rhapsody, Kamelot, Iced Earth (only the Glorious Burden album at this point), Nightwish & Stratovarious that my friend Jon introduced me to, I decided to see what other bands there were out there with similar sounds to the bands mentioned. I got myself a account and this introduced me to other bands. One day, I decided to scour the Internet for other sources to excellent bands (to this point, only was my only source of musical epicness) and Google came up with two websites - a Live365 search results page &

I eventually started using Live365 to search for stations playing the bands mentioned above and one particular station kept popping up. I decided to tune in and I instantly fell in love with the sounds that came through my speakers in the years after.

So thank you ERR for contributing to roughly half of my overall music collection today.
29  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: DREAM THEATER Announce New Album/Release Date on: July 01, 2011, 02:19:17 pm
Listening to the single now, it doesn't strike me as proper DT material. The drummer sounds like a background after-thought instead of being at the forefront of the music. It also doesn't sound as "hard" as previous DT songs. This aside, I do like the song overall. Here's to another terrific album.

Old school rock (not metal imo). Think 80's hard rock Cheesy
Loved the 'old school riffs' that were used.

Now for my response;

Visions of Atlantis - Eclipse
