As much as I loved the build up, I felt the solo singer at the beginning missed a few pitches in their singing. However, as soon as the guitars, drums and backing vocals came into play, wow it was an overload of the senses. Then the song drops its angelic introduction for a man with growly vocals. Being a man who actually likes this kind of singing (its growly but not like the man is swallowing a bucket of gravel) I found this song pretty pleasing. Riffs were good and drum beats were pounding. It was a real head banging tune imo.

Next up is; Gothic Knights - Up from the Ashes

I checked out the bands you suggested lilbizzle and I personally found them quite good. However the singers in both bands don't fit the bill for being added here. This station isn't really about having "growly" singers as the radio station caption explains.
"Looking for powerful, complex metal with vocals that don't sound like the lead singer just swallowed a bucket of gravel? You've come to the right place....

Great idea this.
Being a lover for anything with classical elements, this is definitely one of those songs. The use of the keyboard gives it that classical feel yet the hard hitting drum beats and manic guitar riffs provide that lovely balance. The singers voice doesn't irritate at all and actually helps to carry that classical feel throughout the song. I would rate this song a 8.5 for its brilliant composition, delightful melodic tune & its extremely well done solos.

Rate this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVVlNCQ387Q  Neverland - Reversing Time

I agree with Guid. There is not a shade of blue in that album cover ! I do like the artwork for it though.
So cannot wait for this release Cheesy

44  General / Requests and Suggestions / Re: Suggest some good bands? on: February 12, 2011, 01:31:59 am
Currently I like the style of Kamelot especially the songs The Fourth Legacy, Karma, Epica and The Black Halo. I also like Nightwish in the albums Century Child and Once as well as Blind Guardian's Nigthfall in Middle Earth. Would anyone be able to suggest bands similar to these and possibly some albums or songs?
I was thinking to try maybe Avantasia The Metal Operas or perhaps some of Sonata Arctica's stuff...

I would recommend you listen to the following, as  they sound very similar to the bands you have already mentioned;
Avantasia - very good, Metal Opera albums are my favorite albums from Sammet.
Edguy - is the band the creator of Avantasia (Tobias Sammet) is in and they have pretty good albums there.
Sonata Arctica - definitely worth a look at. They are very good.
Within Temptation - they have a similar sound to Nightwish (operatic, choirs, orchestration etc) and are generally very good !
Thy Majestie - good symphonic band. Their first 3 albums are their best imo. Very orchestral band.

I think that will do for now. Ask if you need more suggestions Cheesy
