Anyone else out there enjoy listening to Porcupine Tree?  I particularily like the Deadwing album.  It would be sweet if we could get some of them on here  Grin

Yeah! Porcupine Tree is good stuff. They have their mellow songs but there are intense prog-rock on the verge of prog-metal ones as well. In addition to Deadwing I really like In Absentia and Fear of a Blank Planet. I also like Stupid Dream but that has to be way too mellow as far as ERR standards are concerned.

I am requesting and suggesting a power metal band from the USA called Powerglove. They are something a bit different.

I 2nd this notion, 100%. Powerglove owned the stage opening up for Sonata Arctica. I think they are more than a mere novelty act, they really crank out awesome revisions of classic video game tunes. They sound a lot like DragonForce as far as tempo and style goes, but that is probably also because Dragonforce sounds like an overclocked Nintendo.

I cannot find physical copies of their CDs since they are probably the only ones selling them (out of the back of their van). I read that they just got signed onto a label.

-Deliverance, Damnation and Watershed of Opeth, All their albums are great, Damnation progressive rock is only, reference:

I also like the new Vanden Plas. I never really paid attention to the band until now, the new album caught my ear.

How about having the webpage's "title" attribute change when the song changes. Like it would say "ERR now playing: Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark" in the browser's application frame, or the tab's name in the more modern tabbed browsers.

It looks like a javascript event is already updating the "now playing" box so adding something like this should be a simple tweak.

On the album Infinity Divine by Pagan's Mind the song "Twilight Arise" is incorrectly labelled "Angel Serenity". I believe the two song names got swapped.

For all of you that have not been in the shoutbox chat the last few days this map has been growing..as of right now 16 and counting entries.

This is very possible via google maps. I believe I have all of the settings set up properly so that anyone can add their own placemarks. I will tweak settings if this doesn't work right out of the box.

I've shared a map with you called Epic Rock Radio Fans

EDIT: This does not work "out of the box". I have to send collaboration invite emails to others who want to participate. At least then those collaborators can in turn send invite emails to others who want in.

Anyone who wants in can email me at iamthefallenstar {at} gmail {dot} com, I don't believe you need a gmail account, just any working email address.
54  General / Requests and Suggestions / Scorpions on: March 19, 2010, 09:15:28 pm
I feel that the Scorpions' earlier epic metal tunes are worthy of the ERR library. I'm talking about "Rock You like a Hurricane", "No One like You", "Still Loving You" era Could we take a poll to see who agrees or disagrees with my request? If the band would be accepted I am willing to donate a "best of" album for the cause, to get the good stuff in the library. I understand if the songs less fitting to the site like the cheesier 90s love ballads are removed from the library.

Hi folks, my name is Paul. I am 27 and live in northern NH USA. I work as a software engineer developing database driven web applications. I am into computers as I ought be for my career. My other interests include video games (mostly Quake Live and some consoles). When it is not terrible weather outside I like to go hiking in the mountains.

I stumbled onto this station by chance a few weeks ago. It is a near-perfect fit for my tastes. I was always into metal, but originally just stuff like Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Metallica and other speed/thrash metal. I started getting big into prog metal 3 or 4 years ago and have since discovered symphonic metal, power metal, and every permutation in between. I cannot really go back to the "simple" stuff since it seems so flat by comparison. My current favorites would include Dream Theater, Queensryche, Kamelot, Nightwish, Avantasia, Serenity, Dark Moor, Sonata Arctica, Opeth, Scorpions, Dio, Symphony X, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, Epica, Edguy, and the list goes on. I have to say it is pretty awesome finding people into the same music, I am so used to no one having a clue about any of the bands that are so frequently played here.
