1  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: New Threshold Album on: July 21, 2017, 07:13:45 pm
I wasn't sure until they released this song if the new album would have Damien or Glynn on it. Given the timing I thought Damien may have already recorded his vocals before he left. Maybe they re-recorded them with Glynn.

This song is good, and has all the typical Threshold ingredients, but it didn't excite me on first listen.
2  General / Epic Rock Chat / Re: ELUVEITIE Working on Second Acoustic Album, 'Evocation II' on: September 23, 2016, 07:53:48 am
It's too bad this album won't have Anna Murphy on it. I really like her vocals Evocation I. I never thought I'd listen to music sung in Gaulish, but she made it sound very natural and beautiful. I wonder who they'll get to replace her.

SAM just played the track Sail On by Gamma Ray and it had a ton of skipping.

I found a track that can be used as an advert: "Sacrapos - At First Glance" by Eluveitie. It's a 2:01 long intro track.

Edit: Another possible one is Skiltron - "St. Patrick's Death" [Instrumental] 2:02

The track "July Morning" on Axel Rudi Pell's album The Masquerade Ball cuts off early. It is supposed to be 9:58 but it is listed as 6:47 and cuts off at that point when played. Also, it is an Uriah Heep cover.

On Warmen's Accept the Fact, the track "Return of Salieri" has the tag [feat. Alexi Laiho][Rockwell cover]. That actually belongs on the next track, "Somebody's Watching Me". "Return of Salieri" is an instrumental.
7  General / Off Topic / Re: Kamelotīs secret inspiration on: July 11, 2016, 06:13:58 pm
I know this is an old post so maybe you've found out this by now, but the piece used in Sailor Moon is an instrumental version of Solveig's Song from the Peer Grynt Suite by Edvard Grieg. The Peer Gynt suite is a famous work of classical music that contains the even more famous pieces "Morning Mood" and "In the Hall of the Mountain King". Kamelot directly borrowed/adapted the melody from Solveig's Song for the chorus of Forever.

Here is a full instrumental version of Solveig's Song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii2Adi2iFRM

Here's a vocal version in the original Norweigian: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8AD75_sNJM

And here's a version in English sung by Sarah Brightman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NM5LgC0mto

Recently, SAM played the track "Restless [Live]" from Within Temptation's Mother Earth, except that the track was actually a live performance of "Deciever of Fools". I later requested "The Dance [Live]" as a test and it was actually a live performance of "Ice Queen". It seems the bonus tracks are actually from the Roadrunner Records edition of the album and that would make "Enter [Live]" actually "Candles [Live]" and "Caged [Live]" correct.

Also, the tracklist for Hydra is all mixed up with the bonus tracks intermixed with the regular tracks. In fact, I've noticed this with a bunch of albums that have bonus disks.

Thank you for making to changes to Apocalyptica, however you mispelled "Metallica" as "Metalica" on a few of the tracks. Also, to be anal about it, could you capitalize the O in "From out of Nowhere"?

There are several more more untagged covers I found:
* There are four covers on Adrenaline Mob's Dearly Departed release: Snortin' Whiskey, Devil Went Down to Georgia, Black Sabbath Medley,
and Tie Your Mother Down. Also, to be really anal, Angel Sky [AcousticVersion] is missing a space.
* For Luca Turilli's Rhapsody, the bonus tracks on their two albums are each covers: March of Time is Helloween and Thundersteel is Riot.
* On Gamma Ray's 'Heading for Tomorrow', Look At Yourself is an Uriah Heep cover.
* Jorn's 'Symphonic' album has two Dio covers on it. Also, "Time To Be King" is technically a Masterplan cover, if that counts.
* I don't know how necessary this is, but none of the tracks on Jorn's Dio album are tagged.

Hi, on Apocalytica's album Inquisition Symphony  only "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is noted a being a cover when there are seven other cover songs on that album. Same with their next album Cult, where the last two songs are Metallica covers and "Hall of the Mountain King" is an Edvard Grieg cover.

Speaking of which, there is a typo on "Prelude to Madness" by Savatage. It says [Edvard Grieg cove].
