Krusader reminds me of Van Canto. So no for me.

I've only listened to them once but not for a moment did they remind me of Van Canto.  Going back and listening again, I can see why you would think that, Eagle, but, I think it could be a visual thing with you...they have a female and male vocalist and she kind of looks like the female vocalist for VC.

They (Krusader) aren't bad.

Progressive Rock band Vox Tempus is worth checking out. They have one album released titled "In The Eye Of Time". Just discovered them and loved the album after one spin.

Definitely agree with you there, one of my favourite albums. Smiley 'Symphony of the Damned', 'Sancitified' and 'The Seventh Seal' are all great albums too.

They are perhaps a bit thrashier than most other power metal bands, but I'd put them in the same boat as Angel Dust, who already have an album on ERR.

Wintersun has previously been suggested on page 42. I would like to support that suggestion! Smiley

Check out Wintersun's song Death and The Healing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh_k9pgUnnQ

Check out Wintersun's song Death and The Healing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh_k9pgUnnQ

I think Wintersun is absent from the playlist because they have alot of growling vocals. The music definitely belongs here. And if it were up to me they would be in the library, growls and all. But i can see why they are not on ERR. They feature alot of growling vocals.....and that just isn't appreciated by majority who tune in for metal without that.

Yes, that song you posted featured little growling. But i've heard that whole album and most of it is much differently vocally than that particular song.

For example.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vP8m1e9R1Y

Again, music is Epic! But they would really draw negative attention around these parts i think.

I'm aware of the harsh vocals, but I thought if more people requested a band, the band would have a better chance of making it on to the playlist. I thought Death and The Healing would be a great fit for the playlist, but wasn't too sure, considering it's the only Wintersun song that features very little harsh vocals. Since Battlelore and Epica are in the playlist, I thought Wintersun could get away with it. Smiley

I didn't think one song would get added to the playlist, but it was worth a shot. Cheesy

Gotcha. Well in that case.....

I vote Wintersun be in the ERR library!

And in some cases there have been exceptions made for growling bands as you pointed out. But i think in those cases the growls are more balanced with a clean vocalist. I think Wintersun would fall more into the Eluveitie catagory of....."really EPIC but just can't make the cut due to the huge amounts of growls", than the Mercenary, After Forever and Epica catagory of growlers.

Anybody else think that Bob Catley's solo stuff would be awesome in the ERR library? Especially his more recent works as they are on the heavier side compared to his early stuff.

To me, his stuff reminds me of a very slightly less heavy version of the Allen/Lande stuff.

Thoughts?
