What do you think is "Essential" to the ERR library?

This is kinda a spin off of the requests and suggestions thread. That thread has been around for so long that i thought it may give it new life to recreate it in a way. Plus with our library growing so much in the past couple years, i thought it'd be fun to see what people thought ERR was really missing out on still (as i know there is still so much more). In this thread i will keep a list of all suggestions for essentials for ERR and probably will use it as a guide when buying music for the station. So as "essential" suggestions come in the list will grow and i will mark them off as we get them added. We probably won't be able to get all the suggestions right away, but i think a list like this would be a good tool.

7for4 - "Diffusion"
Ashent - "Flaws of Elation"
Astra - "From Within"
Dionysus "Fairytales & Reality"
Elvenking - "The Winter Wake", "Wyrd"
Eyefear - "A World Full of Grey"
Forever's Edge - "Chaotic Silence"
Haken - "Aquarius"
Labyrinth - "Labyrinth"
Lemur Voice - "Insights"
Narnia - "Enter The Gate"
Riverside - "Rapid Eye Movement", "Anno Domini High Definition", "Second Life Syndrome"
Scale The Summit - "Carving Desert Canyons", "The Collective"
Soul Secret - "Closer To Daylight"
Stride - "The Music Machine"
Tyr - "Land"
Vanishing Point - "Embrace The Silence"
Virgin Steele - "Noble Savage", "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell Pt. 1"
Vitalij Kuprij - "Forward & Beyond", "Glacial Inferno & Revenge"

*Every (I) you see represents another person who thinks an album is essential. So if you see this (III) it means four people requested it. The three (I)'s and the original suggestor.

I've posted these in another topic too but since you said that we add here suggestons that we are very familiar with I put most of them here too.

These are some of my favourite albums (which I've listened to all too many times Tongue...) and imho are money well spent.

Stratovarious - Destiny

Edenbridge - Sunrise In Eden

Savatage - Edge Of Thorns

Manowar - Kings Of Metal

Bruce Dickinson - Chemical Wedding

As a fan of Iron Savior and seeing so many people interested in them on shoutbox and considering the fact that they are one of the greatest bands in power metal genre, I think we miss their best album:

Iron Savior - Condition Red

Essentials, eh?

Zonata. Hands Down.

I have the "Reality" album, which i'll be sending to kailef sometime in the near future (waiting on another zonata album first, then sending the pair).  These guys are just fantastic.

My favorite song from "Reality" is `Dimension to Freedom`, which can be listened to here -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW8UKp238aQ

i couldn't find a non-AMV version on youtube with a quick glance, but its linked to hear the song, not watch the vid lol.

I also feel that Freedom Call is missing some key albums here, Stairway to Fairyland and Taragon being the 2 important ones.

There is another band i came across recently that i'll be sending with the Zonata, called Odyssea, Excellent stuff.

@ Siegfried - All very nice suggestions. Gotta agree especially with the Savatage. ERR needeth more 'Tage.

@ Amir - Of course. Very much needed is "CR".

@ Oser - Yep, checked out that Zonata tune...would definitely be appreciated by many ERR listeners. Since all your suggestions are already kinda waiting to be added to ERR i won't add them to the list. Hope to see them added soon.

@ Poison Girl - The Threshold "Dead Reckoning" is already waiting to be added.  Wink  Also i would love to see more Savatage as i said above. Not too familiar with the latest JP or any Lana Lane material. I'll have to check 'em out.

Also i'd like to see more Threshold added, although the only two that i have are on and waiting to be on ERR, so i can't really suggest another album of theirs.

I think that new Dragonforce and the upcoming Adagio album are both "essentials".

Yep, Kailef's holding out on us with "The Human Equation". He has it, LOVES IT, but doesn't want to see it split up and put into the library. Never heard Myrath before. I'll be checking them out .

OPETH - Watershed

Well i haven't heard this Opeth album, but if it's similar to the couple i have heard, then i would say it would be a tough sell to the ERR crowd. As much as i enjoy them, ERR is hardly the place for most of their stuff. I'll have to get me this album and check it out.

Myrath is a prog/power metal band from Tunisia. They got their start as a Symphony X tribute band, and their debut, "Hope" was produced by the keyboardist from Adagio (whose name eludes me at the moment). Not surprisingly, they sound basically like Symphony X meets Adagio with a touch of exotic Tunisian folk music thrown in. Very cool stuff, IMO.

Symphony X meets Adadio?  Shocked This i gotta hear right away!

Edit: Just went and checked 'em out......awesome stuff! Definitely sound similar to Adagio. Which is a very good thing if you ask me. I'll be looking to pick up their album in the very near future. Definitely an "essential".  Smiley

Update: Just placed an order for the new Andromeda "The Immunity Zone" and Savatage "Edge of Thorns"

So there you go Siegfried, one of your essentials down.....4 to go!  Smiley

Now it's up to you to bother Kailef to get it added soon. In a week he should have it.

Also ordered Beyond Twilight's "The Devil's Hall of Fame" (featuring Jorn Lande). I look forward to checking it out!

Yes, Strarovarius albums are probably essential. The Mag 9 and Powerquest are already in the long list of things waiting to be added. Meaning Kailef has them, just needs to have a day off from work every once in a while.  Grin

Added Dreamtale "Phoenix" to the list. Unfortunately from what i have heard of Green Carnation wouldn't really fit in at ERR, especially a 60 minute song. Also i have only heard one Lordi song, but didn't think they belonged at ERR at all. Maybe you coul point me in the direction of some of their songs that would change my opinion?
