Hey guys, Kailef is trying out a new broadcast for ERR. It's a 15 day trial period so he doesn't know yet if it's for him or not.

The limit for now is 20 peeps but can go as high as 100 so check it out now by going to LISTEN NOW!, link on the main page, http://www.epicrockradio.com/ or... http://loudcaster.com/channels/483-epic-rock-radio-err

Any and all feedback is welcome, but please post in this thread.

I like it....it sounds better and it starts right up. So far, there doesn't seem to be a downside. Go with it if it's more cost effective!!  Grin

Nice! Would be a pretty good alternative for those who are unable to tune in during the days due to the amount of traffic.

I pushed the link and was greeted horribly by some Van Canto garbage. So now i'm a little weary to click the link again.  Tongue

I guess it can only get better from VC right?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Fabio :'D

But still I love Loudcaster
Okai, love is a bit over the top, but it's a brilliant site Cheesy
I don't have to sit though:
"I'm a blah blah blah" or "Blah blah blah" for a minute before I hear my music
Also, it has a neat slide show while the music plays and the music does sound a lot better and when i do several things at one, live365 used to hate that and make that awful crackling noise and then jumps the music
so in all

*bows* Loudcaster *bows*

Liking it so far.  I have thought since I joined here that L365 is limiting ERR's potential (both in user count, and non-VIP player options) and this could open some new doors.  Dual-hosting is not such a bad idea - for higher user count, redundancy, and spreading the brand.

Works flawlessly in Winamp.  No plugins, no VIP, no tricking it into thinking you are playing it from the website.  Just open the stream's URL in Winamp and it starts playing immediately.  I'm sure VLC and other popular players will also work just fine, given icecast's ubiquity (I was actually running an icecast server out of my home 10+ years ago).

http://icecast01.loudcaster.com:80/483.32.aac

Also, icecast can be played on Android while L365 is still dilly-dallying with putting out an Android app.  I plan on getting a Windows Phone 7 when Verizon gets them, and while there is a L365 app for WinMo 6, I highly doubt they will bother with Phone 7 if they haven't even touched Android.  Boo on L365 for being lazy.

I have never tried, but I'm sure it's pretty easy to build a widget (copying the source from the Loudcaster site would be a good start) to play an icecast stream, so Oser should be able to easily integrate playing of the stream directly into the ERR website.  L365 has widgets available, but I have had compatibility problems with them.

Hopefully Oser can also merge the listener counts from the two streams so we can surpass that 91 record. Cheesy

Legally, we have to launch the stream that's being fed through Loudcaster's servers directly from our page on the Loudcaster website.  We can't provide links to play the stream in other ways, but if you figure them out on your own (grin) that's fine.

I'm glad that everyone is liking it so far.  The only down side that I can think of is that it might dilute our numbers on Live365 a bit and make us lose some TLH over there, since regulars would probably select Loudcaster over Live365.

Well, that answered my immediate question regarding TLH.  I'd hate to see our position at L365 flounder.

Yeah, that could be a problem.  May not be so bad if Loudcaster is limited to 20.  Then when they both top out, bump Loudcaster up.

For what it's worth, I've been playing both all day today.  Grin

The only negative so far is that the player dosen't beep to let you know when your two hours are up.
live365 always let you know when your time is up.

I'm loving Loudcaster! The music begins right away. No more having to wait or refresh the page because the music didn't load the first time. Smiley

I would love to see Loudcaster stick around. I will be using it from now on. Cheesy

Yeah Loudcaster runs smoothly....  best thing is that i can run it through WinAmp.  Smiley  (no worries of shutting down browser)

In WinAmp I read:  33kbps and 44khz for the stream. Not really the best, but for headphones enough.

I like it so far.   Does it kick you out after a certain time (like L365 every 2 hours) ?
I used Loudcaster for 6-7 hours straight at work, it does not seems to kick you out...
Another good thing with LC is that you don't need to login to listen.

Perhaps the TLH will go down a little on L365, but I am pretty sure it will come back very quickly.  When L365 is full, it drives newcomers away.  At least with 2 options, people will have more chances to get in.
