In August 2011, RHAPSODY OF FIRE guitarist Luca Turilli and keyboardist Alex Staropoli announced their decision to go their separate ways.

Due to legal reasons, Staropoli will continue under the RHAPSODY OF FIRE name. Turilli, on the other hand, will make his future efforts available under the RHAPSODY moniker (RHAPSODY OF FIRE's original name), in which he will be joined by guitarist Dominique Leurquin, bassist Patrice Guers, and drummer Alex Holzwarth. A singer for the group has has yet to be announced.

A video trailer for the upcoming release by Luca Turilli's RHAPSODY which will feature a full choir and orchestra can be seen below.

More details will be made available on December 19.

RHAPSODY OF FIRE's latest album, "From Chaos To Eternity", was released in North America on July 12 via Nuclear Blast Records. Described by the band as "the natural evolution" from last year's "The Frozen Tears Of Angels", the CD marks RHAPSODY OF FIRE's final release based on the fantasy saga started in 1997 with the group's debut album, "Legendary Tales".

Even using the same basic font for their band titles.  To be honest, it's going to be slightly confusing.  I wonder if they'll ever tour together.  That would be funny....  Grin

That would be great. Although Alex Holzwarth, who is drumming for both bands, would be very exhausted indeed by the end of the tour.

As for singers for LT's Rhapsody, since Fabio's been singing with Kamelot, wouldn't it be great if Luca picked up Roy Khan?  I hear he's not doing much these days. Wink It doesn't seem likely to me though. My other 'top pick' in the 'fantasy draft' for this band (okay, I'm really torturing an analogy here, aren't I?) would be Sir Christopher Lee, for obvious reasons.

So, we'll have at least four bands with Luca Turilli in the library.  We can officially make the "Luca Turilli Epic Mega-Rock-Block".

Rhapsody
Rhapsody of Fire
Luca Turilli's Rhapsody
Plus Luca Turilli and Luca Turilli's Dreamquest (which is not the same band as Dreamquest)

It just occurred to me: at some point in all these names, Luca's name at the beginning of so many band names eventually ceases to be meaningful and turns into nonsense syllables.

Only thing I'm interested in is Rhapsody changed their name to Rhapsody of Fire because there was another band from Brazil (I think) also called Rhapsody. Has that band disbanded or does Luca Turilli not give a crap about "them being before us"?

Personally, for singers, have Timeless Miracle's members join. They haven't been doing anything since 2005 (except hopefully making a follow up to "Into the Enchanted Chamber").

As long as the singer from Timeless Miracle at no time attempts to speak or sing the word "Moor" I'm all for it!

Or "here/hear." So nasally that my sinuses ache just listening to him.

And yet, I find his voice oddly appealing much of the rest of the time.  Huh
